2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumRemember Hillaryis44.org and PUMA?
I remember the 08 election around nere like it was yesterday. When PUMA supposedly broke away from being Democratic Party, since Obama was so awful and Hillary was the bees knees.
In not my finest moments, I even trolled their site a time or too, to let them know they weren't fooling anybody that they were actually liberals, democrats, or even actual Hillary supporters.
Well...hillaryis44.org is still alive and kicking...for the past 8 years they've been bashing Obama in prep for Hillary in 16...only now that she's defeated Bernie, the entire site has "shockingly" become a Hillary bashing site. She's now "just as bad as Obama" and Hillaryis44.org is pulling for Trump.

(11,605 posts)Disgusting. I don't know if she was a Republican plant or not, but she sure didn't do Hillary any favors.

She wasn't totally untethered from reality, either. Obama was young, a one-termer in Congress, and black, and it is very likely that he would not have run if his opponent was a prominent white male politician. Being the first woman to make a strong run for president did not just present a tremendous mountain to scale for Hillary, but a great opportunity for the first black male candidate to run against seriously handicapped opponent.

(11,605 posts)I think Harriet Christian's comments were racist, plain and simple. But we are just starting to come together after the 2016 primaries - the last thing we need to do is refight the 2008 primaries!

"thats Harriet Christian, the famous Hillary Clinton diehard who threw a fit at the DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee over its perceived bias towards the Democrats inadequate black male of a nominee, which landed her a Fox News appearance during which she said black people dont even know why they voted for Obama."

(34,648 posts)Why would we remember puma sites? Is it like Jackpine Ridiculous? I bet we will forget them all in due time. Sad to see these fake democratic sites pop up and troll us by supporting Trump. They really hate dems. Vile.

(340 posts)I've occasionally run by that site and read it over the past 8 years. Until about 8 months ago, they spent every day explaining how Hillary was secretly working to undermine Obama, how every move was a calculated part of her master plan to destroy him and win in 2016. They believed her friendship with and admiration for him was a ruse. They believed she was seeking to sabotage his administration by joining it. They thought she was obsessed with payback like them.
And then when they saw her run in 2016, they finally realized that Hillay actually genuinely admires Obama and believes he has done the right things. And they hate her for it.

(8,541 posts)While I still think that Bill can't stand Obama. I've come around somewhat and do think that there is a bond between Hillary and Barack.

(58,785 posts)No matter how much product of minds long lost down the rabbit hole I run into, I'm constantly being amazed by the delusions.
As far as Hillary goes, you know people by their enemies too, not just by those they acknowledge as friends. If hate can honor, this does.

(58,785 posts)To me the rest has the same sentiment as crowds chanting "four more years" at Obama as his presidency nears its end--a statement of affection and support, and regret that he will be leaving.
It'd almost be surprising if Republican agitators weren't there anyway, of course.

(11,605 posts)I have both for sale in my store. I checked the rules here and it seems that is ok.
The first sticker is for non-Bernie-or-Bust Bernie supporters like myself, who wanted Bernie but are prepared to vote for Hillary in November.
The second bumper sticker is, as you say, a statement of affection, and sadness that Obama's presidency is almost over.

(68,552 posts)then they are Republicans...I have often suspected that many who refuse to support the nominee are Republicans. You can say what you want but Trump is a horror ...if you can fathom a Trump presidency and think it would be 'better' than a Clinton Presidency than you are a Republican. If you can vote for a third party or not vote ...all of which is a vote for Trump then you are not a Democrat...perhaps you idolize Bernie...who is but one man, but you are not a Democrat or progressive in my opinion. I checked out the Pines...what a nasty place too...I would be hard pressed to label any of them as progressive or Democratic...I expect a fair number of them are Republican agitators and the rest could be considered Bernie loyalists. I saw more than a few using their DU names on the site.

(32,886 posts)The PUMA and Bernie or Bust types amount to a few cranks plus Repuglicans (doing a bad job of) pretending to be disaffected democrats in order to try to drive a wedge in the party.
None of whom will have an effect on the outcome.
The best part of the PUMA nonsense was watching the Freepers pin their hopes on PUMAs giving the election to McCain.
