(4,569 posts)There are 3 friends of mine on FB that were "Bernie Or Bust" that have immediately started pimping Jill Stein as "The One" today after Bernie put himself behind Hillary.
In my mind that means they were never really for Bernie after all.
All the blathering about how the Democratic Party has to "earn" their vote, and they dumped the Party in a heartbeat and are now pledging their fealty to the Green Party??
Yeah, you're right, I couldn't resist pointing out their blatant hypocrisy to the point of their almost outright lying about their support.

(1,820 posts)You don't understand that people get to vote as they want. It is America remember we each must choose and some choices might seem odd to you or I yet it is the American way.

(4,569 posts)Just pointing out the facts that some people who pledged to Bernie never really meant it.........

(1,820 posts)I have never voted based on who supports or endorses a candidate. Votes are private and we can never know how another person votes,as proven by exit polls.
Each of us most vote as we believe. Your post is angry and probably bait as well.
Why so angry when your chosen candidate is winning. He very strange.

(11,175 posts)In order to have a basis for throwing mud at some progressives whom you obviously disliked anyway, you choose to imply that "Bernie or Bust" meant "I will vote for Bernie if he is on the ballot and if he is not then I will slavishly and robotically vote for whomever he endorses." Then, when they don't adhere to the words you've put in their mouths, you can charge them with hypocrisy.
I always interpreted "Bernie or Bust" to mean "I will vote for the Democratic nominee if it's Bernie and if it's not Bernie then I won't." That's exactly what these people are now advocating.
I can't speak authoritatively about "Bernie or Bust" because it was never my view. Still, I think my interpretation is much more reasonable than yours. Among those of us who voted for Bernie, people will differ in the weight they give to his recommendation, but nobody ever pledged to give him total blind obedience.
