2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumWhy, for the love of GOD, are Trump's children picking his VP?
Why are they his closest advisers, wielding the kind of power that is a complete conflict of interest given they're going to take over the business and apparently have a large say in who their father selects to fill vitally important government positions?
WHY are the news creatures just blithely saying "the Trump Children are meeting with the VP candidates today..." without the next phrase being "WTF?"
His son in law's father was prosecuted by Christie, for Chrissake!

(8,000 posts)Can you imagine if he had been president when the bin Laden raid was being discussed? "Ivanka, what do you think?"
And WHY isn't the media going after him about his taxes? It would be all over the media if it was Clinton.

(8,000 posts)I've seen some candidates that I was really worried about running for president, but I've never actually been so afraid of a main party's candidate for president before.
The Baron thing would be hilarious if it wasn't so indicative of the kind of person Trump is.

(58,785 posts)was recently shown on national TV, and I could not follow its references to political philosophies--which the leader expected to have real meaning for the typical voter. Way over my head. I'm used to "he accuses" and "some feel" coverage.

(22,025 posts)The New York Times, The Washington Post and MSNBC, as well as the rest of the "liberal" media would be all over Mrs. Clinton and her campaign if she had amateurs advising her.
Of course, Secretary Clinton is a professional and Donald Trump is not. That should say it all.

(3,335 posts)How hard can it be? We know that the campaign room at Trump Towers is empty and void of any signs of the existence of any campaign. Perhaps the same is true for all those Trump Enterprises. Also, his last campaign filings showed that most of his campaign charges were to various Trump owned business enterprises. That same article said that Trump had made a claim at the onset of his campaign that he could possibly make money off of running for President. We shall soon see.
This family reminds me of Liz Cheney. When Dick took over the White House, Liz came along. She also had a job working for him when he was the Defense Secretary back in the 80's while also going to Law School. Somewhere along the line she also had 5 children while working for her Dad (and going to Law School) in his Government Jobs. I'm sure it's nice work if you can get it, but I don't believe she could have held down a job while caring for 5 children, unless she was working for her Dad in her government appointed job. I worked in the Wash DC area, and I was an empty nester, and the commute was the worse part of the job. Now many agencies allow teleworking, but that's not everyday. So I'd love to know how the Liz Cheney's and Ivanka Trumps of the world hold down 'real' jobs with 5 children and 3 children respectively.
