CNN: Warren, Hickenlooper visit Clinton's house during VP meetings

This is interesting. I didn't know Hickenlooper was even under consideration.

Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper were at Hillary Clinton's house Friday during a series of meetings as Clinton finalizes her choice for a vice president.
Warren left the house an hour after her car dropped her off at the stately home on Whitehaven Street near Dupont Circle in Northwest Washington, D.C.

Clinton is meeting with people Friday at her home to go over her running mate selection process, a source familiar with the process said. Campaign chairman John Podesta, who is heading Clinton's VP vetting process, and campaign vice chair Huma Abedin were also in the house during the time of the meeting.
...
Clinton personally likes Hickenlooper, aides say, and he is seen as someone who could help deliver Colorado, a crucial battleground state.

I AM SO CONFUSED.

Frankly, we can't run someone with the surname of Hickenlooper. I mean, really.

I don't know too much about him though. Not sure where he falls on the ideological spectrum.

he is anti-death penalty, pro-gun control, sort of neutral on marijuana legalisation, and has done a lot to help the homeless. He was a geologist before he began in politics. He's from Narberth outside Philly (my hometown). He looks...like a geologist.

I love Narberth. Used to live there. The French patisserie there has the best croissants I've ever tasted!

Hickenlooper is a name one would have to get used to...

They're pretty good there.

Hickenlooper. Hicken. Looper. Clinton/Hickenlooper.

Yeah, that might take a minute.

She is probably meeting with some people as "window dressing", as the woman who ended up becoming Chief Justice of the Supreme Court on the West Wing put it.

so, it could very well be that they're meeting with her to help with vetting for other people.

It's nice when the Beltway people remember that there's actually a whole bunch of the United States that doesn't orbit around the East Coast.
