Ask the people of the UK.. who voted for Brexit.. but did not want it.. and are shocked.. so if someone says they are voting against us as a protest vote.. just remind them.. they are voting for something not against.. ahem Cornell!

Very flashy. The Sheeple flicker flicker flicker is enough to give one fits, but one certainly can't miss the rotating turd with eyes floating over to the icecream cone.

JURY: It goes without saying that the sigline is part of the overall message, hence open to observation and comment.

A single that is the result of a hit ball that dribbles slowly up the third base line looks the same in the record books as a single from a lined drive into the outfield.

And that is what a protest vote for Brexit looks like as well. The same as that from a nutjob who wanted Britain to leave the EU.

And it works the same for Presidential elections which I think is your point. You either work for the person in the Democratic or Republican parties closest to your ideology or against them. That's the way it will look in the history books.

If someone is stupid enough to cast a vote for Trump in protest even though they don't want a Trump presidency... Then "stupid is as stupid does"

Finding a candidate who embraces your values is understandable, crucial even. But fervent idealism, which places support for a certain candidate above all practical consequences of that support, is foolhardy. According to ethicists, it’s also immoral.
“The purpose of voting is not to express your fidelity to a worldview. It’s not to wave a flag or paint your face in team colors; it’s to produce outcomes,”

Simply because you say there is not does not change truth. This is America we have a right and duty to vote our heart and conscious. Each of us MUST vote!

It is inappropriate to discourage voting simply because it is not how you would vote!

VOTE in November! Let every voice be heard!

No one is discouraging anyone from voting.. own your vote.. if a person votes to "teach" some percieved group or party a "lesson" you get can get a backfire.. aka Brexit.. own your vote.. can't say loud enough..because we always are voting for something..

They also tend to tell anyone who will listen, grossly overestimate how many people care and highly underestimate the narcissism of the act. I don't care what happens as long as I get to do whatever I want and then tell everyone how moral and ethical I am!!!

The self-righteousness of people like Cornel West and Jill Stein deserves to be mocked, and those who think that voting for Stein as some kind of protest means anything to anyone else is just kidding themselves and inflating their own importance.

People are free to vote for whomever they like, but don't expect others to not question their motives. In many cases, they are patently obvious.

Now, if you want to switch, on the Federal level, to popular vote for electing Presidents, then we can talk.
