I'm glad Chris Matthews is speaking out against this travesty...

of speeches accusing Hillary of murder. The fact that Schmidt thinks this is okay after he saw what happened with Palin is sickening.

We need to come out hard against this.

Updated: Schmidt finally admitted this won't play well to those outside the convention center.

Also reported: Trump called into Fox during her speech and they cut away completely.

to put this grieving mother on stage for political purposes. Never has this been done, and should not have happened. The fact that the "dynamic duo" Wallace and Schmidt who propped up Palin thinks this okay will cause me to donate more money and volunteer more hours for a GOTV effort.

I meant the way he and Wallace propped up Palin during the election, feeding her one liners, knowing for a fact that she wasn't qualified. The fact that Wallace couldn't even bring herself to vote, etc. Hearing them condone this kind of behavior is disgusting.

but he was spot on tonight. It was a horrible thing to put this woman on stage, even if she was willing, even eager, to speak. Calling Hillary Clinton a murderer who should be in prison was unconscionable, even for a grieving mother. Sorry, I can feel sorry for her grief and still think she is very wrong.

About the Palin screw up and became persona non grata in republican pundit circles, that it almost feels like he's trying to regain his R street cred with this election. Not the same rational Steve Schmidt we heard from after the McCain debacle.

He's back towing the party line.

That's the theme--and they'll do everything they can to tear Dems down.
They'll look like idiots when this convention is replayed every four years, on CSPAN.

I love that they record this shit. And CSPAN never blinks (I will admit I am watching MSNBC tonight, because I don't care much about the speakers--I prefer the analysis, for once).
