Florida Gov. Scott: Same-sex marriage is 'law of the land'

When it comes to Florida Gov. Rick Scott's opinion on the Republican Party's platform opposition to same-sex marriage, the Republican governor had just three words Tuesday night, despite his own state's previous opposition to the law: The Supreme Court.

"The Supreme Court has already made a decision," Scott told Fox News' Greta Van Susteren, referring to the shooting at an LGBT nightclub in Orlando last month that killed 49 people, carried out by a U.S. citizen who pledged allegiance to the Islamic State.

That act, Scott said, attacked "our gay community, attacked our Hispanic community."

"We need to figure out how to come together as a country and include the Republican Party," Scott said. "We all need to come together," adding, "it's the law of the land." Pressed by Van Susteren on whether he specifically opposed that part of the party platform, Scott responded, "I haven't seen that."
