The Democrats Needs to Counter with Hope, Unity, and a Bright Future

Imagine the juxtaposition between the republican's view of America and the democrats






People don't want to be miserable and think everything is terrible all of the time. They don't want to be told that they shouldn't be happy. Even in the worst of times, candidates win when they are inspirational and offer people hope. Lincoln, FDR, Johnson, Reagan, Obama didn't win by preaching that we are all going to die and that the future if bleak.

Trump doesn't seem to understand that (shocking right?) and if the democrats come out next week with happy families, neighborhood BBQs, and sunshine, people will run over them in droves.

1. But which picture do people perceive as reality?

Do people see the country down the path of ruin that you find in dystopia fiction? Or are we a politically correct Disneyland with no problems and we should just continue the status quo?

Normally, you are correct. People tend to gravitate towards positive messages. That's why people loved FDR, JFK, and even Reagan. But I can't recall an election in modern times where voters from all over the political spectrum were as ANGRY and FRUSTRATED as they are this year. With so many Americans thinking that the country is on the wrong path (like 70%), going into the DNC with this idea that we are a field of flowers and rainbows may make us look delusional. We DO have serious problems in this country that need to be solved. There is no denying that.

Hillary isn't the most inspirational candidate, but if she and the others can say "No, you know what? Everything isn't shit. This isn't a dystopia. We don't have roving gangs of minorities roaming the streets. Everything he said is bullshit."
