Two things struck me. Trump sees Americans as victims. And the bully (Trump) will fix that.

I think both of these are losing messages in the long run.

The Democratic message needs to be an optimistic message. Yes America has problems, but Americans working together can fix those problems. The President leads but it is Americans who can fix America, not a President.

I do believe Americans have been victimized by corporate politicians on both sides.

Every single one of us, and he has seen us as Marks his entire life.

The con he is running now is the same con he has run prior to seeking the office of POTUS.

That said, messaging wise it has to be both, unfortunately, the positive message and calling him for what he is.

It just is not going to be a pleasant next few months.

The part of Donald Trump’s speech, which was overall depressing, which stood out was his hammering home a message that he is against the Trans-Pacific Partnership.

Trump, in an effort to be persuasive to the 2016 Democratic Bernie Sanders presidential primaries voters, said he would take on that issue while his Democratic challenger, Hillary Clinton, is for the status quo.

Thom Hartmann, whose program I watch regularly on Free Speech TV (via DirecTV), follows Democratic Underground. He recently stated that if one of the two major parties really implements policy which rejects trade…that party is going to be winning presidential elections. I think he is right. I think this, and not the scapegoat implication that it was motivated by racism, explained the Brexit vote. And the people of the U.S. are trending away from supporting free trade. (Republican, more so than Democratic, voters have moved to that position—a mistake for those on Team Blue.) The Democratic Party—despite their failure to take a position of being against the TPP in their recently reshaped party platform—need to get this to be newly represented in their party leadership (very much including when they have they have the presidency). If they don’t get on this…they will, even after winning Election 2016 (with Hillary Clinton), start losing at the presidential level.
