It's been 10 years

[The Straight Story]

Since I made this video.

I just watched it, again. I think, at the time, it captured how we all felt. Bush was president, things were bleak, DU had its issues to be sure, but we were together on the big picture.

We were together on things - fighting against a war, bush, etc.

And now? It seems like we have forgotten what it was all like back then.

Hillary isn't perfect. Obama hasn't been.

But...really? We are fighting over silly shit these days. Bernie. Hillary. Who is "better".

God, I am so glad that this is what we are facing now compared to back then.

Hopefully, for some old timers here, the video will give some perspective.

2. its been a long time

I remember finding DU in the summer of '03. I came here all the time leading up to the '04 election. The day after that election was 1 of the most depressing times on here for me. We've come a long ways, thanks for the perspective.

3. Yes, most of these ten years we've been climbing

back toward the sun instead of still digging. Hopefully more people will look up and realize that we are making progress.
