Which kinda makes me feel less vitriolic towards him! The guy does not like Trump one bit.

He was the guy who, despite clearly not being a fan of Clinton, criticized the lock her up chants and compared it with the birther claims against Obama. He also introduced himself to Trump as the other Senator from Arizona who didn't get captured.

At least he has the good sense to think that Trump is a stinker!

He's almost giving his constituents permission to vote for the opposition....

I like Tim Kaine, I lived in VA while he was governor, and he is a popular liberal Democrat for Virginia and very liberal for the rest of the South. I supported Bernie and I support Tim Kaine. He'll be an excellent VP for us.

This site has him as populist leaning liberal

I'm happy to hear from the people in Virginia, all of whom seem to have nothing but good things to say about Senator Kaine. I'm looking forward to him hitting the campaign trail and learning more about him.

and the governor and both senators are Democrats. He's done very well with all types of voters across the state and had become mayor of Richmond in a surprise upset for a white Democrat to win in a majority black city.

He's popular in Virginia and will certainly help us in the general election.

He had a lot of name recognition. But from what I hear, it was more Tim Kaine who helped to turn the state. And thank god, too. I lived in Virginia for a while (in Fredericksburg, not in the north) and they were seriously in need of some modernisation!

if more on the Republican side spoke like this, expanding on the 'vote your conscience' meme? Perhaps Cruz provided the nudge to get the ball rolling.

Perhaps Kaine helps with the middle right who are seriously scared of what happens with a Donald Trump presidency, not because he isn't progressive but because he's so stable. The very things that make him boring here make him look like the really responsible choice when Trump is on the next line of the ballot.
