Is Donald Trump a Racist?

HAS the party of Lincoln just nominated a racist to be president? We shouldn’t toss around such accusations lightly, so I’ve looked back over more than 40 years of Donald Trump’s career to see what the record says.

One early red flag arose in 1973, when President Richard Nixon’s Justice Department — not exactly the radicals of the day — sued Trump and his father, Fred Trump, for systematically discriminating against blacks in housing rentals.

I’ve waded through 1,021 pages of documents from that legal battle, and they are devastating. Donald Trump was then president of the family real estate firm, and the government amassed overwhelming evidence that the company had a policy of discriminating against blacks, including those serving in the military.

To prove the discrimination, blacks were repeatedly dispatched as testers to Trump apartment buildings to inquire about vacancies, and white testers were sent soon after. Repeatedly, the black person was told that nothing was available, while the white tester was shown apartments for immediate rental.

A former building superintendent working for the Trumps explained that he was told to code any application by a black person with the letter C, for colored, apparently so the office would know to reject it. A Trump rental agent said the Trumps wanted to rent only to “Jews and executives,” and discouraged renting to blacks.

in Trump's mind, he wasn't being racist, it was just business. Most racists don't see themselves as racist. They have a multitude of alternative reasons for their behavior, while putting forth their one minority "friend" as proof that they most certainly cannot be racist. "Where's my African America? Stand up."

Another revealing moment came in 1989, when New York City was convulsed by the “Central Park jogger” case, a rape and beating of a young white woman. Five black and Latino teenagers were arrested.

Trump stepped in, denounced Mayor Ed Koch’s call for peace and bought full-page newspaper ads calling for the death penalty. The five teenagers spent years in prison before being exonerated. In retrospect, they suffered a modern version of a lynching, and Trump played a part in whipping up the crowds.

This is what he does and who he is.

There are many others, but here's another one:

http://www.motherjones.com/mixed-media/2015/08/trump-casinos-black-employees

a black Trump casino employee's account:

I met a bus driver named Kip Brown, who worked the Port Authority route, up and back each morning, for Academy Bus Lines...
Brown also used to work in the casinos, at the Showboat, bussing tables, and at Trump’s Castle, stripping and waxing floors. "When Donald and Ivana came to the casino, the bosses would order all the black people off the floor," he said. "It was the eighties, I was a teen-ager, but I remember it: they put us all in the back."

Within historical context, after the attack in Central Park a lot of people were screaming for blood. But Trump's obsession with Obama's birth certificate? Yeah, maybe a racist.

His speeches about Mexicans, BLM, and Muslims prove that he wants to put hate into law and use hate to over-ride established law,
Present day Hitler is what he is and the most dangerous man to ever make it this far. It's chilling what this says about the level of ignorance and hate in this country.

America’s racist president

Hi,

Three words.

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/07/24/opinion/sunday/is-donald-trump-a-racist.html?_r=0

It is almost unimaginable that anyone would utter these words in modern times. Yet, action and reaction are always with us, and a backlash to the presence of Barack Obama could not be ruled out.

What is there to say?

D.

But maybe he just figured out Reagan voters. Modern conservatism isn't an ideology it's a defense mechanism. Trump says "You're not bad for being afraid of "those people". "Being too big a baby to pay for a USA that works (Waaaahhh my taxes are too high) actually makes you a patriot". "Forcing rape victims to carry their attackers babies against their will then calling yourself a Christian isn't morally diseased at all". "Using Reagan's racist welfare queen lie to justify taking food away from children doesn't make you a Satanic scumbag" So when cons hear this basic rhetoric they say to themselves "Hey I'm actually a good American not some awful(scapegoat du jour)" "he really gets me" Then when Trump says "Now I'm gonna whip out my Cheeto and trickle down on you peasants" the cons say "Ronnie?"

47. Is posting this violating DU rules as an attacks against Democrats?
Mon Jul 25, 2016, 11:49 AM
Jul 2016

Trump was a registered Democrat till 2009. His Father appears to have always been a Registered Democrat. Thus this "Attack" is about the time period when both were alive and Democrats. Under DU rules you can NOT attack Democrats on DU, thus is this attack permitted under DU rules?

Please note, Nixon was going after anyone who supported the Democratic Party and the Trumps did that in New York City. Thus while it is with his Character to discriminate against African Americans when it came to housing, I suspect Nixon went after them more do who they were donating to as oppose to their treatment of African Americans.

Remember it is NOT against the law to be a Racist, it is against the law to discriminate because of race. Thus it was breaking the law to move all of the African American Employees to the rear when Trump visited his Casino, but that Trump did not want to see any African Americans is NOT illegal (and management of the Casino seems to have tried to work around those two sets of laws by moving the African Americans away from Areas where Trump was to go).

Just a comment to put Trump's racism is prospective. He appears to have been in compliance with discrimination laws since 1981, when his Brother Fred took over the business from his father in the 1970s or 1980s. Donald's Father lived till 1999 but has Alzheimer since at least 1993 and appears to have nothing to do with his business after the death of his eldest son in 1991.

Donald, Fred Trump's second son, ran his own business for Fred Trump had been investigated in the 1950s for fraud involving housing projects in New York City. Fred Trump did nothing illegal, but he had set up financing deals that made him millions at tax payer's expense. Thus Donald's young brother, Robert Trump, ran Fred's business starting in the 1980s, Donald continue to run his own business with Fred as his silent partner from that time period till Fred's Death in 1999.

Donald's sister is a Senior Judge on the Federal Third Circuit court of Appeals, appointed by Bill Clinton. She claims to be a Republican but when nominated to the New Jersey Federal Court in 1982 by Ronald Reagan, both New Jersey Senators were Democrats (and under Senate Rules, Federal Judges are picked by that state's Senators, if the President picks anyone else, the Senate never confirms them, that has been the rule since the first Congress). The President has a little more leeway when it comes to Courts of Appeal but not much, the Senators of the states under that court of appeals tend to have veto power. Thus she may be a Republican for Reagan was a Republican and he wanted to appoint a Republican to be a Federal Judge, but Senate rules said it was the SENATORS of NEW JERSEY that picks the Federal Judges at the State level so they picked a Republican they liked. i.e. a Republican in name only.
