Also, Congress is toxic; I wouldn't take their potential refusal to confirm her as a sign of anything. Five months later and they are still refusing to vote on a SCOTUS nominee.

“I am grateful to Debbie for getting the Democratic Party to this year’s historic convention in Philadelphia,” she said, “and I know that this week’s events will be a success thanks to her hard work and leadership.

“There’s simply no one better at taking the fight to the Republicans than Debbie –which is why I am glad that she has agreed to serve as honorary chair of my campaign’s 50-state program to gain ground and elect Democrats in every part of the country, and will continue to serve as a surrogate for my campaign nationally, in Florida, and in other key states.

“I look forward to campaigning with Debbie in Florida and helping her in her re-election bid – because as president, I will need fighters like Debbie in Congress who are ready on day one to get to work for the American people.”

In addition to the friction with Sanders and his supporters, donors were upset over the way they were talked about in some of the emails, and were complaining: “They talk about us that way?”

In one email exchange in May, national finance director Jordan Kaplan and one of his deputies, Alexandra Shapiro, strategized about where to seat a major Florida donor, Stephen Bittel, at a DNC fundraiser featuring President Obama. Bittel, a real estate mogul in south Florida, appears to have exasperated the officials, the documents suggest.

“He doesn’t sit next to POTUS!” Kaplan wrote.

“Bittel will be sitting in the sh—iest corner I can find,” responded Shapiro, who also referred to donors who had yet to confirm for the event as “clowns.”

The top party official also said that Wasserman Schultz called the president and offered her resignation. She expects to continue to help out through the end of the convention.

Just one example of the behavior she condoned of her subordinates.
