The Clinton campaign does adequate cleanup of the Debbie Wasserman Schultz mess - By Ruth Marcus

PHILADELPHIA — And this was supposed to be the boring convention. Oh, well.

There are several metrics by which to judge campaign messes: How well does the campaign avoid predictable messes? Does it create messes of its own? And, when the mess arrives — as messes inevitably do; this is politics, after all — how quickly does the campaign move to clean it up?

By that standard, the Hillary Clinton campaign performed adequately in dealing with the headache that was Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz. Not superbly, but adequately — and certainly better than the Donald Trump campaign in dealing with the serial migraine that was Cleveland.

First, that Schultz posed a problem was evident well before the damaging leak of DNC emails. She was an evident irritant to the Bernie Sanders campaign, which perceived, correctly, that the DNC favored Clinton. (Turns out, sometimes when you’re paranoid, the party really is out to get you.) Hindsight is 20-20, but the smarter move, in retrospect, would have been to ease Schultz out even before the leak.

Second, unlike some of the Cleveland follies — the Michelle Obama plagiarism, the Keystone Kops response to the Michelle Obama plagiarism, the Cruz non-endorsement — the email leak was not a mess of the Clinton campaign’s creation. The DNC? That’s another story. People, how many times does this have to happen before you learn: If you wouldn’t want it to be made public, don’t say it in email!

This isn't getting as much attention, but Russian meddling in the U.S. election IS the biggest bombshell out there.

Russian government hackers penetrated DNC, stole opposition research on Trump

The DNC said that no financial, donor or personal information appears to have been accessed or taken, suggesting that the breach was traditional espionage, not the work of criminal hackers.

They want her head on a pike. Nothing less will suffice.

Many seem not to understand that dealing with DWS is Obama's responsibility, not Clinton's.
