***** BREAKING - FBI investigating suspected Russian hack of DNC emails*****

(CNN)The FBI on Monday confirmed they are investigating a hack into the Democratic National Committee, the first acknowledgment from the agency that they are probing the incident, which US officials suspect came from a Russian cyber attack.

Fallout over the emails led DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz to announce her resignation Sunday.
"The FBI is investigating a cyber intrusion involving the DNC and are working to determine the nature and scope of the matter," the agency said in a statement. "A compromise of this nature is something we take very seriously, and the FBI will continue to investigate and hold accountable those who pose a threat in cyberspace."

The FBI's investigation team track record the past years hardly indicate that they
will be able to accomplish this task.

Without verification it could be seen as empty campaign hyperbole to damage Trump.

that 1. Russian state operators were among the possibly several hackers who accessed the DNC server before it was rebooted on June 12, and 2. Russian state operators then passed these emails to Wikileaks.

None of these were intended for public consumption. Most of us do not think all of our emails are going to be made public.

This is something we all need to be concerned about no matter whose campaign was being compromised. This is a foreign government apparently trying to influence our presidential elections and we want answers concerning who was involved, who they were coordinating with and the ultimate why. So many dots are starting to connect, and that's always been the greatest danger and the greatest questions "Why didn't you connect the dots?" How many times have we heard that one.

On our European allies. Of course the Russians are going to help him.

It's the kind of thing that fiscal conservatives find appealing about 'the Donald'.

The flip side is that the military industrial complex (which controls the media) isn't likely to be all that excited about Trump's thriftsavery on this matter that is so important to them.

It will be interesting to see how Hillary's team will spin this and how steadfast Trump is on his 'make them (the Europeans) pay for their own defense' stance.

In fact they're probably impressed by that.

The Russians supporting him because he's weakening our defense might not work as well.
