Let's be clear...Bernie was not "booed." The shouts were "We want Bernie"

Last edited Mon Jul 25, 2016, 04:32 PM - Edit history (1)

Whatever you think of the behavior of the Bernie delegates, at least be honest about what happened. They were shouting support for him. The booing was for someone else.

I suspect that the booing could have turned against him if he kept saying things they didn't want to hear from him. Hopefully that will not happen tonight, when he reportedly intends to lay out the case for Hillary and increase unity.

Didn't know that about Obama. I always remember him as out-calming everyone.

He could have them all back with him if he'd tell them what they want to hear, only he's not going to do that. Reportedly he will be making the case for her tonight. I plan to do an Obama watching coolly and analytically from my couch.

Those who don't like it will be booing tonight. Four days from now they'll be home examining their behavior under the spotlights of family, friends, coworkers. Some will be ashamed, some not.

105 days to November 8.

I do wish he had not strung things along the way he did, as I think his prolonged two-step dance away from the primary allowed some of this animus to fester for too long.

The fact is, most Bernie supporters IRL are now on board with our nominee and the Dem ticket. I believe by the end of this convention and certainly by November, we will see a strong, unified voice of support for HRC/Kaine; and a resounding rebuke of those disruptive and destructive elements opposing Democrats and thereby assisting Putin's boy Trump.

got all stirred up over the primary. They and liberals may both be on the "left," but they are a very different kind of people--as we see. They are the incendiary elements keeping others aflame. Liberals tend to be relatively open-minded, cooperative and inclusive. These people are anything but, and social scientists describe their behavior as "extremist" for very good reasons.

Lol. The expression "herding cats" comes to mind. Delegates who spend money and time going to all the official functions thru the whole process are typically quite loyal to their candidate. There's what, 300 difference in delegate totals without the supers. And it seems like we have an actual split in the party that's always been festering, but was highlighted to an extreme, especially since the e-mail dump.

Let's just see how it all shakes out by the end of the convention. It may work itself out in a productive manner.
