In a likely vain attempt to stem panic

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2016/07/25/the-democratic-convention-is-chaotic-the-democratic-base-isnt/

We are not dealing with a huge unprecedented revolt here. On average Obama lost about 10% of actual Dems as is perfectly normal, let alone Green/DSA bandwagoners.

1. they need to tighten up the rules about who can get elected as a delegate.

and they need to bolt down the chairs in Philly.

2. Oh right, keep the people out.

But But But, that's what they DID!

3. not the people, just those trying to help the other side win.

Loyalty pledges for delegates, as well as bolted-down chairs, are two very good ideas.

5. yes, the ones booing Bernie Sanders when he expresses hope Clinton will defeat Trump.

They are foes, not friends.

The Republican party is not big enough to hold all of our enemies.

7. What side are you on, Clinton or Trump?

Haven't heard you weigh in on that matter on this site.

8. O'Malley,

but as he's not longer 'in it,' but is supporting hrc, I support the Democratic candidate.

13. huh. didn't see ya much.

but anyway, again, thanks for supporting the nominee, for whatever reasons you may have. I think any direction one comes from, it's clear that a Trump election is the death of liberal progress in this country for decades to come.

11. First of all, I don't think that poll is accurate

And it is a snapshot in time...early too. All this hysteria...stop with the 'concern' and lend a hand.

14. I'm sorry what??

How the fuck is pointing out that 90% of Sanders supporters, right in line with historical norms for Democrats, will support the nominee of the party even approaching concern, let alone hysteria?

You didn't confuse "stem" in my title with "cause" did you?

12. What's with the reference to DSA?

Has DSA - Democratic Socialists of America - ever not supported the Democratic presidential candidate?

16. This is a very interesting graph

https://img.washingtonpost.com/wp-apps/imrs.php?src=

It shows how many moderates are still in the Democratic party. Another huge reason that Hillary made the right choice with Tim Kaine.

17. It also shows that at least by identification

The party is trending leftward rather than rightward as often assumed here. This is far more realistic, as supporting gay marriage equality, doubling the min. wage and opposing the death penalty would have been ubthinkable 15 years ago for a major political party.

18. But these polls were taken well before the e-mail leak

You'll have to wait to see what new polls show and if the scandal changed some minds.
