Holy Crap - the Russian hack extended to personal email accounts of DNC workers!

On MSNBC with Chris Hayes just now, the DNC staff person tasked with looking into Manafort rec'd an email on her personal Yahoo email account from Yahoo telling her that her Yahoo email account had been hacked by a State Sponsored entity.

Bottom line - we now have an independent entity confirming the hack, and the hack is more extensive (personal accounts) than thought.

Yup. This helps when it comes to the naysayers who might think our gov't is making this shit up. Native Jul 2016 #3
Hard to say what will happen. Hacking is a very effective means of sabotage. MichiganVote Jul 2016 #4

...then they probably have a pretty good idea who's behind it.
I'm very curious how nervous Trump and Manafort are about this.

Because when personal email accounts are compromised that possibly exposes people to blackmail.

Nobody puts compromising stuff on their work email unless they are moron, but plenty can be harvested from private emails- everything from sexual indiscretions to private conversations about their bosses to nude pictures to criminal acts that haven't been exposed and anything else a person wouldn't want exposed.

This gets in the wrong hands and it can be used to influence them to compromise inside information, sabotage, or just quit working toward the goal.
