2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumWhat damaging and damning info is in those leaked e-mails?
I heard that these e-mails show DNC-plotting against Sanders.
And I have heard that they only show partisan bias in a few low-level staffers, except those staffers then didn't go through with their issues.
So, what exactly is in those e-mails?

(1,499 posts)to cause the DNC chairman to resign and go into hiding and the DNC to publicly apologize. It's pretty hard to act like it was nothing,
BUT
The ONLY important point about the emails is that IT'S OVER.
Bernie said it didn't change the outcome and it isn't changing his vote or his endorsement.

(13,252 posts)Wish...granted. I looked at those emails discussing how to address the trump's taco bowl tweet and the video ideas they were putting together to call trump on his idiocy and racism.
Here's the link to the emails using that phrase, "taco bowl engagement" with their subject line: "Trump isn't trying to bring people together"

Most of the stolen emails came from key figures, but that doesn't mean that most of the emails were unethical or that any from senior figures were unethical. I can only imagine how the Trumpsters are feeling today. After trawling through 20,000 emails, the only thing they have is a the lame accusation that the DNC was racist because they referenced the Donald's racist tweet and used it against him.
Trump should take comfort in the fact that the DNC was referencing Trump's infamous taco tweet in the "deeply troubling email" that the right wing is agog about today. Calm down, Donald. It was ABOUT YOU!

Stop worrying about the Russians. They don't matter.

(18,229 posts)It's heartbreaking when you run an excellent and innovative campaign, but come up short. I was a Hillary supporter in 2008, so I know exactly how that feels.

(90,616 posts)...transparency in our political parties, I want to know where the hell are the RNC emails? Do you seriously think those are a clean set?
Let's see what those reveal.
Oh, nobody stole those and released them on the eve of the RNC? Gosh, I do wonder why that is? Why do YOU think that is?
This stinks of sabotage, and the Democratic Party has lost elections over sabotage before this.
Ooo, look at the shiny object over there by the Dems. Don't look anywhere near the GOP or their connections.

No one has been able to come up with any.

(4,835 posts)It was email, and it was hacked. It's not the same as posting on Facebook, or on a message board. It is a communication that is supposed to be secure. They didn't put it out there for public consumption. The press did.
The real issue here is the security of private (or company) emails. The most damning thing that they have come up with is this "Bernie's religion" thing (I assume it's the most damning because the press has reported it at least a dozen times). You have to expect that they're gonna favor somebody, I know I would (did, whatever) so the fact that THEY favored one candidate over the other isn't even news.
Stick with the theory that the hackers favor Trump (regardless of who the hackers are) because that's the real story. They broke the law because they want to make the democrats look bad, hence they are supporting Trump. The emails themselves don't matter, it is the motives of the hackers that should be in question.
