(58,785 posts)4. Oh, good for MoM! Next DNC chair?
WashPost: I think theres a general interest in seeing him succeed Wasserman Schultz, said Maryland state Del. C. William Frick. He ran against Hillary Clinton, so he cant be accused of being in her camp. After this weekend, no one wants someone who is hyperpartisan.
Cheryl Everman, a Clinton delegate from Carroll County, said she and members of other state delegations agreed during Mondays convention proceedings that OMalley is well-qualified to serve as chairman.
Its because of his experience, she said. He was head of the Democratic Governors Association, he has a 50-state network and a progressive record. He also has that understanding of the common man that we need.
OMalley whose handpicked successor as governor was defeated in 2014 by Republican Larry Hogan said he would gladly serve as chair of the national committee if Clinton asked him to do so. But he added that its really up to her its her prerogative.

Hmmm! He addresses the convention tomorrow night.

(10,828 posts)6. I like O'Malley, too
In any other year, I think he would have had a shot at the presidency. It just wasn't his time. He's experienced and a strong progressive. Also detests Trump in no uncertain terms. He's had no problem calling The Donald out as a fascist. If Hillary chooses O'Malley, she'd be making a good selection.
I love the meme, btw--Trump is Putin's lapdog. So apt!
