2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumGood GOD, this is an incredible list of things Hillary has done. I'm humbled.
THIS is who I want representing me, doing those things I want done. All I have to do it vote. She'll work like the incredible woman she is.

(19,038 posts)People have no idea, she has done more for this world in her life than most any group of 100 politicians. Even lifelong Dems have no idea. They are not even listing half of what she has done. Just an incredible person who has served others for decades.

(81,220 posts)What a spectacular day to be a Democrat, and to revel in it here, 'eh?
Let's see... last week by this time... they were still trying to climb out of the Melania plagiarism hole, and Chris Christie was trying to lead a witch burning. Oh yeah, and we'd seen the sheer pageantry of Chachi, the Duck Dynasty guy and a bunch of other people we'd never heard of. I'm whelmed.
I KNEW, THIS week, we'd get a week of "THIS is how it's done." Riffing off Michelle Obama: they were busy going low. We've gone HIGH!
Ms.Lib
(131 posts)& I'm still trying to forget the very few parts I watched of last weeks convention from hell. Ours has been brilliant so far & a much needed breath of fresh air.

(34,373 posts)Cheeto. The ones last week were absolutely pathetic--- "Well, I spoke to him for 10 minutes on the phone, and he seemed like a really nice guy, and then I called him back 5 minutes later and he actually remembered my name!"
Absolutely no comparison. No wonder why Cheeto is bugging--I think deep down, in those 3 a.m. dark moments of the soul, he knows he's a awful, worthless little man so he must bring down those who are better than he is.

(454 posts)I was reading an education blog earlier where some people were arguing about her in the comments, and one of the people who was "voting his conscience" by not voting for either Trump or Hillary because "they are both corrupt" didn't believe she had accomplished a single thing in her life other than lying, and he asked for those he was arguing with to list out something good that she had ever done for anyone. Not sure if anyone did because I went back to watching the convention, but there's probably tons more like him out there who have been "brainwashed" by all the right-wing propaganda over the past 40 years.
Bet lots of people don't ever go onstage for Trump talking about all the good things he's done for them that have made their lives better.
This conference just keeps getting better and better. So much positive energy!

(492 posts)I was always an Obama over Hillary person and am now so fortunate to be able to vote for this truly amazing representation of what the Democratic Party means to me. It means the world to me that in my lifetime we will have elected an African American and now female president. I am so committed to donating and doing the work necessary to ensure that she is elected.

(11,833 posts)Expanded health coverage for millions of kids.
After law school, Hillary could have gone to work for a prestigious law firm, but took a job at the Childrens Defense Fund. She worked with teenagers incarcerated in adult prisons in South Carolina and families with disabled children in Massachusetts.
Helped get 9/11 first responders the health care they needed.
In Beijing, told the world that womens rights are human rights.
As secretary of state, Hillary made LGBT rights a focus of U.S. foreign policy. She lobbied for the first-ever U.N. Human Rights Council resolution on human rights and declared that gay rights are human rights. And here at home, she made the State Department a better, fairer place for LGBT employees to work.
Hillary worked across the aisle to expand health care access for members of the National Guard and reservistsmaking sure those who served and their families had access to health care when they returned home. And she worked to expand the Family Medical Leave Act, allowing families of those wounded in service to their country to take leave in order to care for their loved ones.
As our nations chief diplomat, Hillary didnt back down when the stakes were high. As Hamas rockets rained down on Israel, Hillary went to the region immediately. Twenty-four hours after she landed, a ceasefire went into effectand that year became Israels quietest in a decade.
Thanks for sharing it here ailsagirl. Thanks also to reddit, the user who got it from somewhere, and all who are helping spread the word about Hillary's accomplishments, always working for others less fortunate.
