8. And the difference in tone!

Inclusive, optimistic, qualified speakers speaking about actual issues. The arena, full to the brim with informed people from all walks of life instead of a sparse crowd of ignorant old racists, full of hate. The use of ridicule rather than smearing, of facts over falsehood, the power of persuasion over fear.

Sometimes I worry about the other side and their appeal to the dark nature of people who are easily swayed by fear. But this, this is how we win over the simplistic politics of division and fear. By giving a damn.
