"In 1971, I met a girl . . ."

Reminded me of Julia Roberts' line in "Notting Hill":

"Don't forget I'm just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her"

I thought it was extraordinarily sweet.

So, MSNBC - stop with the hating, already.

1. I guess they've never heard of the song "My Girl"

Hillary is HIS girl. His job was to be personal and to humanize Hillary. He did a great job.

MSRNC's true colors are coming out now.

4. Exactly

My grandfather called my grandmother "his girl" even after 60 years of marriage (the Clintons have been together for more than 40) - in his eyes, she was ALWAYS a girl.

6. And he LOVES her. That came through loud and clear. He still LOVES her.

The message being, if the love is still there after all these years and everything they have been through, Hillary must be a very special person.

5. I met my SO in 1972

We couldn't vote but we worked on the McGovern campaign. That line resonated.

7. Reminds me of Gwen Stefani's infamous line: "I'm just a girl..." MSNBC is full of shit.

Rachel is full of shit, too.

15. I am guessing that their ratings were way down and

this bizarre pivot was supposed to save them. It isn't working.

As someone said earlier today - they are all a bunch of ratfuckers.

Why watch a poor intimation of fox when the real thing is spewing hate 24/7?

Screw MSNBC if they are following that stinking model!

17. And the older I get the higher the age limit becomes for being a boy and a girl

At my age, people in their early 30s are "kids."

21. Ugly infatalizing of our candidate. No Yale School student of that era would consent to be a "girl"

I'm offended at the sexism.

Bill's track record on women in the White House is awful.

Bad bad memories.

24. Apparently, at least ONE Yale Law student of that era consented to be a "girl"

The woman he was talking about obviously doesn't have a problem with it. So, why are you so worked up about it?

Isn't a right to define oneself a fundamental tenet of feminism. Hillary is a strong, accomplished, powerful woman who doesn't need strangers to tell her husband how he should describe her.

If you are so offended and think it's "sexism" for a husband to describe his affectionately describe his wife in her younger days as a girl, getting through a day must be sheer hell for you, given your hypersensitivity.

How could anyone (but a Republican) be in a snit over a simple love story?

23. My friend called his wife of 30 years "my bride." It was a term of affection. Same as Bill

calling "his girl" a girl. A term of affection and nothing more.
