Joy Reid just said something profound on MSNBC.

I'm paraphrasing; 'Obama made us realize that America still has issues with race, and Hillary will show us that we still have issues with gender."

So we're going to be trading in all the rightwing racist crap, for rightwing sexist crap. Get those big girl panties dusted off!

But yes they will trade in their racist hat, for a misogynistic one.

have known that both viscerally and intellectually. Oh, and btw, it doesn't take Hillary's campaign or presidency to show us that gender issues still exist in the U.S. Hello? We got the vote less than a century ago.

On the other hand, I have been involved in hiring, evaluating and firing committees. I KNOW that false or frivolous accusations of misogyny are very damaging to "real" women in the workplace, who desperately need that job or raise.

For that reason, I hope the desire to protect a very wealthy, powerful woman from the least offense, real or imagined, in a post that she will never know about gets dialed down some.

Noticing Hillary's shoes is not misogyny; and not liking Hillary's shoes is not any more misogynistic than loving Hillary's shoes. Noticing nothing about Hillary BUT her shoes is almost certainly misogyny, unless maybe you are a shoe designer with zero interest in anything else in this world except shoe design. Not voting for Hillary because she is a woman? MISOGYNY.

Of course, as I type this, I am aware that one or more of you will consider it misogynistic. Such is life.

onslaught. I know many that were caught off-guard by the renewal of blatant, out and out racism after President Barack Obama was elected (seemed to be relegated to the shadows prior to the election). The misogyny will flow through those already prone when Hillary gets elected. Best to gird ourselves now than be caught off-guard again. Great post.

And anyone not fighting hard to end the injustices of the Drug War is guilty of racism as far as I'm concerned. They can whine all they want about images and words on TV but unless you are trying to get people out of prison for victimless crimes you're just spewing air.

I've been seeing this whole thing in the exact same way. Although issues surrounding race won't go away once Obama is no longer president, we can expect the very same forces that have been attacking him all of these years to change their focus to a President Clinton.

A lot of people are going to realize just how much of a feminist they are or aren't in the next few years.
