I guess that's why the non-US news broadcasts are so much more informative.

The info I get from streaming Sky News' hourly (brief) segments about the US election gives much more useful information to me than the nonstop coverage from US cable news. (And I bet they'd be smart enough, and prepared enough, to move the panel discussions into a studio setting when the noisy conditions outside make it impossible to have an intelligible discussion.)
