The only downside of this for Hillary is that she now has to follow Barack Obama (Original Post) democrattotheend Jul 2016 OP
If she keeps it more personal and intimate that could be a healthy contrast. geek tragedy Jul 2016 #1

Her most important task is to have her real self come through to viewers.

And I agree. I feel like she can't give the kind of speech Obama can give (nobody can), but she can give a very personal speech that shows people a side of her that gets lost in all the crap people say about her. Ironically, the best speech I have ever seen her give was when she conceded to Obama in 2008. If she can give a speech like that tomorrow I think it will be a home run.

She obviously can't script that. But she should go unscripted.

When she came out tonight and Obama "passed the baton", so to speak, it felt a little weird because she is so much older than he is. In some ways it feels like going backwards a little, from a president who uses a MacBook and does chats on Reddit to a president who said she can't really think writing on a computer and prefers to write by hand.

That said, it was a really nice moment when she came out and they hugged and it felt like he was passing the torch. It is in both of their political interests to support each other right now, but I get the sense that the admiration is genuine, and that they have grown to be pretty good friends despite the contentious primary 8 years ago.

I have no doubt Hillary will knock it out of the park too.

But I will take Hillary just as she is...a nerdy, compassionate, hard working, unselfish humanitarian soon to be President.
