Please remember: the point of the Convention is not to win over Independents

The strategic purpose of a convention is to motivate the base (that's you and me, pilgrims) to go out, get organized, and bring along more voters between now & November.

There will be a bump in the polls, sure. But it may be less than we expect. This convention has energized the shit out of me. I'm charged & raring to go. But the public is jaded and dejected this year, having been saturated w/right wing propaganda for decades geared at tearing the public apart.

Our jobs start after tonight. Register new voters, learn voting laws and obstacles in your state, post signs, makes calls, have those uncomfortable conversations with neighbors & coworkers, and sign up for GOTV walks in your precinct.

Trump says he'll have the best, believe me, the best ground game in the fall. Sad. And believe this too: he'll fight dirty and have a swsrm of lawyers ready to whittle down our votes.

Yes it strains credulity from our PoV, but this election will be razor close and we need everyone in our ground game. This will be a numbers game. Please go get involved. The bill of rights is counting on you

Having most people agree that Clinton is better means nothing. We have to get people to the polls. Dems are historically worse at that than Republicans. Trump's a master at emotionalizing persuasion.

DUers probably can't see it; his appeal makes no sense to me. But seriously Trump's convention really has been Putin him out front in the polls, at least temporarily. We ignor his electoral strength at our country's peril
