Ugly Republican primary for Missouri attorney general coming down to the wire

"Kurt Schaefer has been accused of being a corrupt faux conservative who sold out Missouri farmers to Chinese communists.

Josh Hawley has been accused of being a fraudulent puppet of East Coast special interests who has done legal work on behalf of terrorists.

Unsurprisingly, both men deny the charges and say their opponent is engaging in gutter politics.

Schaefer, a two-term state senator from Columbia, faces off with Hawley, a law professor at the University of Missouri, in the Aug. 2 primary.

The winner will take on either former Cass County Prosecutor Teresa Hensley or St. Louis County Assessor Jake Zimmerman, who are running in the much quieter and far less expensive Democratic primary.

Wondering what you think about where Missouri is. Any chance of the Democrats picking up attorney general? Or would one of the GOP candidates actually be a good one?

I had looked up MO on PPP because of polls showing Trump is leading Clinton there by a lot. What?! Reportedly the incumbent Republican senator, Roy Blunt, is only slightly ahead of his Democratic opponent, meaning MO has a senate seat is in play. If MO shifts on Trump (and how could they not, at least somewhat) might it shift that vote also?

I don't think Dumpf wins it by a higher margin than mittens did in 2012 (almost 10%) but MO isn't really a good place to spend $$$ when so many markets bleed into states that are solid Blue or Red while MO is only light red, Poppy Blunt is trying to portray Kander as a Kansan by having a campaign staffer follow him in a kU jayhawk mascot costume, but people dumb enough to believe that already vote repuke
