This election boils down to one, simple question.

When I watched Mr Khan's speech this morning (I missed it last night), it struck me that this whole election can be encapsulated by one question:

Do we value that man and his son, or don't we?

Do we value the contribution that immigrant family has made to our society? Mr Khan is a successful lawyer and has raised three sons with his wife. Do we value the sacrifice that family made, the life of their son to protect and defend this country? Do we value the freedom and the laws that allowed that family to come to America and thrive in America? Or don't we?

If we do, we vote for Hillary. If we don't, we vote for Trump. I don't care who you are - Democrat, Republican, conservative, liberal, moderate. If you value the incredible contribution of immigrants to this nation, you must vote for Hillary. If you think immigrants are the great enemy, vote for Trump.

This man is a PATRIOT. His son was a PATRIOT. They are what is GREAT about America.

There are a lot of moderates/Independents out there; they're who we want to reach, besides other Democrats obviously.

I find myself in tears everytime. He and his wife have a dignity that Trump has never possessed.

They touched me particularly because, like all immigrants, they have left so much of their lives behind to come here to be Americans. I don't know what he does for a living but many come with very little and leave behind everything just to be one with us. His sacrifice was so enormous. What he has given is a chance for all Muslims and other immigrants to be acknowledged as human and part of us. He shames those who feel superior in their smug belief that they are the right kind of American. By speaking, he makes it harder for mistreatment of Muslim Americans/immigrants to be justified. It is our job to get their backs and to amplify his voice.
