Donald just loves him some Putin

MSNBC unearths three-year-old interview with Trump in Moscow: ‘I do have a relationship’ with Putin

But MSNBC unearthed an interview from three years ago that suggests Trump not only knows Putin, but also was aware Putin was monitoring him in some fashion. The interview was conducted by MSNBC anchor Thomas Roberts in Moscow, ahead of a Miss Universe pageant.

“I do have a relationship, and I can tell you that he’s very interested in what we’re doing here today,” Trump told Roberts, when asked about his relationship with Putin. “He’s probably very interested in what you and I are saying today and I’m sure he’s going to be seeing it in some form. But I do have a relationship with him and I think it’s very interesting to see what’s happened.”

“I mean look, he’s done a very brilliant job in terms of what he represents and what he’s representing,” Trump said. “If you look at what he’s done with Syria, if you look at so many of the different things, he has really eaten our president’s lunch, let’s not kid ourselves.”

"he’s done a very brilliant job in terms of what he represents and what he’s representing"

Not just brilliant, but VERY brilliant.

"What he represents AND what he's representing."

I don't think English composition was Donald's strong suit.

We can't be sure that even that was the truth when he said it. If he is being truthful, it is usually an accident.

First he met him while they were being interviewed for 60 minutes, even though it was clear to us that they hadn't actually met. But he claimed he did when he wanted to be a braggart.

Then he walked it back the other day, after having made the statement to Putin, if you're listening. I hope you can find those 30,000 emails Clinton deleted. Then once the FBI got involved in investigating that statement, he walked it back.

Now we find out that he claimed to have had a relationship with Putin going back three years. Also someone had posted here on DU that both his sons had made comments dating back a couple of years about their sizable investments with the Russians. So there seems to be some there, there.

My guess is that the Intelligence community will say to Trump this week, "No classified briefing for you".
While he may be entitled to briefings, the Intelligence community decides what information to provide to him. If they deem he can't be trusted with certain information, he doesn't get it at this time. If I were them, I'd limit his access to info to the absolute minimum he needs to get by. It would probably go like this: "Mr. Trump, I'm here for your intelligence briefing. First, your secret service code name is "Jerk". Second, In my humble opinion, You are not very intelligent. That is all sir. Good day."

The fact that he is incapable of controlling what comes out of his mouth should be grounds for limiting access to the bare minimum needed. The way he runs his mouth, anything more would be spread to Eric and Don Jr. in 5 minutes to prove that he's important and knows something the rest of us don't. And finally, he'd probably just blurt something out that he shouldn't at a rally because he has the self control of a 3 year old, or during a 3 a.m. Tweet.
