1. The media wants Trump to win the general and they're helping him just like in the primary.

A Trump presidency would mean high ratings for the "news" networks. Who wouldn't want to watch the country disintegrate?

8. I believe you are correct, but I also think it will backfire.

Truth is the more Rump opens his fish mouth, the worse he sounds. And the spinning it takes to untwist the pretzel Rump twists himself into over and over, makes his pundits look like idiots or worse. Will be interesting how Manafort tries to untwist the Russia pretzel. But I doubt I'll watch any of it. I'll wait for the awesome DU analysts to weigh in!

Hillary is running against Trump and the media. Trump is an empty shell devoid of humanity. The media created him and will stand by him to the end.

I pulled the plug on TV a long time ago. I would rather find information elsewhere. And I would rather think for myself.

If everyone had the courage to turn off the TV, ignorance (as delusion) and overall mental illness would be reduced. People would read, think, and engage in real conversation again.

13. TV is a drug, and people are addicted to it.

They know it is bad for them, but it gives them some sort of immediate pleasure. So they elevate TV pundits and celebrities to demigod status, and they hang on their divinities' every word.

People need to let this whole barge full of garbage illusions go. TV personalities are not heroes. They are overpaid photogenic and well-costumed images no wiser than our underpaid and beloved friends and neighbors. Now and then a real person appears on the TV. The Khans had no script and no beauty-pageant presence, but they were real. Of course, they were too real for certain "news obfuscating" channels to cover.

The majority of network and cable news "personalities" are actors playing roles that allow them to live more lavishly than other people. Cable and network news stations are profit-taking entertainment and advertising organs for corporate America, and they don't give a damn about us or the truth.

Education is not entertainment. Education takes time and hard work, but the satisfaction from real education is long-enduring and goes deep. Entertainment, such as TV affords, requires little effort and gives immediate pleasure; but its effect is temporary, superficial, and a distraction from creative activity that leads to enrichment of our humanity.

The only way to eliminate the dominance of TV on the way people think, feel, and vote, is to starve the beastly technology by no longer supporting it. The pundits will have to get jobs doing something else, and the rest of us will no longer be passive ignoramuses, whose intelligence rises and falls with the parade of useless opinion mongering. The illusion of Trump as "credible" and the caricature of Hillary as "untrustworthy" are both unfounded creations of the same cynical and greedy media.
