Joy Reid is doing what all journalists should do.

She interrupted a GOP guest, Amy Kramer of Women for Trump, who spewed misinformation, and gave facts. In one instance the guest claimed GDP was falling, and Joy told her it is rising. Amy whined about unemployment and Joy asked her if she knew what the black unemployment rate was under Bush and Amy admitted she did not, etc.

Great job! But it's sad that this is not the basic behavior expected of everyone.

wouldn't allow the spewing of misinformation. i bet anyone coming on her show will have studied the facts of the issues they want to raise. That should keep a lot stupid innuendo from entering the discussion. Joy did what a real journalist does. Too bad Wolf and Chuckie boy and Tweety don't know how to do it or just won't do it.

Joy rocks! hope she can last.

misinformation, they end up reinforcing it.

Tweety does challenge things here and there, though not nearly as often as a journalist should. Blitzer and Todd are pretty useless for the most part. It is like they have a checklist of questions to get through. A robot could do their job and probably do it better.

Joy Reid is smart as they come. I really hope she lasts as well. I quit watching MSNBC weekend mornings (didn't care for Melissa Harris-Perry much), but I may start watching Reid's show.

to do the correcting, or they don't know the facts themselves, or they aren't quick enough on their feet (or seat) to size up what's happening and confront it. I think she's doing it exactly right.

Bill Maher (non journalist) sometimes is good at this too, but he isn't always prepared with the facts (understandable, since his is more of a comedy/entertainment) show.

The rest of them need to get on board...

Most reporters led them spew their garbage but not Joy.

A few weeks ago Matt Schlapp (I think that's his name) a grinning GOP pundit, looked like he wanted to strangle her as his typical ploy is to talk over and she talked over him. A thing of beauty!
He is especially detestable as he was part of the Brooks Brothers riot banging on the doors in Miami-Dade in 2000.

It's about time we start seeing this! He wouldn't let some Trump excuse-making mouthpiece get away with some of his statements, too. It's been a long time in coming. I wish journalists had had the guts to do this during bush/cheney. They didn't. They gave those bastards a free pass, a free ride, and as they say in the Monopoly game, "Free Parking", and a free trip past "Go" PLUS a free 200 dollars. NEVER questioned. Those who tried were fired, demoted, shut out. So they all learned their lesson, alright. DISGUSTING. COWARDS ALL.

I guess we ought to be grateful this is now happening, in real time. Rather than long after the fact, like the New York Times finally did, printing a somewhat limited acknowledgement that they dropped the ball, and allowed themselves to be used. No, not used. PLAYED. LIKE FUCKING VIOLINS. They were manipulated up one side of the room and down the other, and NEVER questioned, NEVER tried to drill down, NEVER. NOT ONCE. Until way after the fact. When it does no good at all. And it could have done PLENTY of good if they'd done it in real time.

same talking points hour-after-hour-after-hour.

I like Joy 1000 times better than, say, Mika, and 100 times better than current Rachel, and 10 times better than Chris - but their talking points overlap 95%. It is tiresome.

When Ed and Rev. Al were bigger voices at the network, at least there was some variety in the viewpoints.

I wish Joy would throw away the talking points and tap her inner Keith or her inner vintage Rachel.

to be Chuck Todd who lets them say whatever they want, not calling them on their comments like Joy Reid did there. ABC Jon Karl or whoever does the same. Stephanopoulos is maybe the best but he lacks doing that many times as well.

What good are these shows if they don't hold their guests responsible for what they say?

Ms. Reid would be a great host for that show. I haven't watched in a long time but her interview style would serve that show well. She can make an interviewee very comfortable so they open up but if they try to pull some BS she will stick it to them. She and Tamron Hall are my two favorites at the moment. Both great interviewers.
