Advice needed, please!

Just saw tweets from people I'm "friends" with on social media. One says she's voting for Bugs Bunny, one says she's not voting for either Trump or Clinton because they are both liars. What, if anything, can I say to try to get them on our side? They are AA and don't feel that either candidate represents them. Or, do I just respect their choices and zip it?

without comment, that rated the "lies" of several people including Trump and Clinton, Obama, etc. It had bar graphs I think.

Trumpeter just lied twice in one day, about the NFL and about not knowing Putin. And something else just today that escapes me at the moment.

Download both the Republican and Democratic platforms. They are both online in PDF form.
Let those people read or at least become a little familiar with the platforms.
Then let them vote on the platform. They don't have to vote for the person just the ideals of the party.

I have immediate family members who think Trump is the greatest. All they keep saying is that Hillary is a liar and a crook and they will not vote for her. There is nothing I can say to change their minds and believe me we have had some heated discussions. I think Trump is right about one thing. He could shoot somebody in the middle of 5th Avenue and he would not lose voters. I truly do not understand the mentality of some of his supporters.

Their minds are made up, so why waste energy? Also, I don't think there are very many of them.

my son, who was all in for Bernie for months, thinks she has lost her mind.

She's been Green since Nader, so she has this thing in her head that Democrats are bad people, and almost as bad as Republicans

There's no reaching her, unfortunately. She didn't vote for Obama either.

But unless they ask you questions, it probably won't help to offer information they don't want to hear. People like to believe that they have made their own choices. In that respect, sometimes asking them questions could open them up to new points of view.

On the bright side, if they aren't voting for Trump that is a partial win.

Where he interviewed people were lying about what she lied about. It makes many uncomfortable when they recognize themselves as a little ignorant and may encourage them to learn something.

you will be told to waste no time on people who support the opposition. You will be told not to argue. At some point, you will be told to ignore even undecideds and focus completely on people who are leaning toward Hillary or strongly supporting Hillary. Because so few people vote in this country, elections in this country are won not by changing people's minds but by getting your candidate's supporters out to actually vote on election day.

So, instead of arguing with these idiots, your time would be much better spent volunteering for the Hillary campaign. You could register voters, make phone calls, and/or go door to door. You could easily make up for the votes of these two people. In fact, three hours of canvassing would probably make it more likely that ten or fifteen strong supporters will actually vote on election day.

It is very similar to a religious cult. Any deviation from their thought process instantly triggers a negative reaction. In their fear/ paranoia/ hate culture, you are perceived as dangerous simply because you do not respond properly to the dog-whistle words.
I have tried to sit down in front of the computer with several of my republican friends to work out any of their misunderstandings. It is important that you do not attempt to blame them for it. They have been conditioned to respond to any attacks with aloof indifference. Most will immediately shut down or even begin to attack you.
Several long term friendships have been truncated. In the long run it is for the best. They revealed their true character and it wasn't pretty. I do not shun them but I discovered that I no longer seek out their company.
This is much more difficult with family members, but at least you know what topics to avoid with them.

I have found the best course of action is to ignore them. Then again I live in a solid blue state so I'm less worried about my third party friends then I otherwise would be. MN will never go to Trump so I don't waste my time with them.
