Just like anywhere. Good professors, good students, good people. I know a few of them. And William Faulkner was from Oxford, you might recall. But unfortunately there are a lot of racist idiots there too.

there are plenty of nuts/racists there, but there are also a bunch of cool people there. Just not as MANY. :^)

It doesn't surprise me at all that this happened there. There are WAY too many racists there among the student body. What percentage, I couldn't say. But too many. But it would wrong to paint the entire town and university with one brush.

went to Ole Miss. He was also a Truman scholar, owned a newspaper, is an investment banker, and rubs elbows with the leadership of the Democratic party. Ole Miss is a good school with a fine reputation in literature, speech, and law. You should not draw conclusions based upon the behavior of a few.

I also have many right wing friends that went to the school as well. While I don't agree with their politics, they are sincere family people who contribute greatly to society.
