esponding to Donald Trump's claim that he "always wanted to get the Purple Heart," Rep. Tammy Duckworth on Tuesday tweeted a picture of her injured self in a hospital with her own medal, adding: "Nothing easy about it."
"This is how one usually looks when you are awarded the Purple Heart. Nothing easy about it," the Illinois congresswoman tweeted directly at the Republican presidential nominee, accompanied by a picture of her battle scars from Iraq. Duckworth is currently involved in one of the nation's most high-profile Senate races, against Republican incumbent Mark Kirk.

Dumb guy says, "it hurts at times." Boy did she humiliate dumb guy. Trying to get money intended for vets with real injuries...she is kick ass.

Trump couldn't deal with 5 minutes of what Purple Heart veterans went through.

(53,339 posts)The Army notified my family when I was wounded, sending telegrams to my mother, my older brother, and my little brother--who received the telegram on bunker guard in Vietnam. And yes, they were profoundly affected. In another thread I posted the telegram they got. Can you imagine the telegram Tammy's family received? Had to be much more devastating than what my family got...

I can't remember where or I would attribute it, but I just read someone who said that Trump should have pinned that purple heart right back on the guy who was trying to give it to him.
That would have been the right thing to do.
