What do Cenk and Michael Moore think about how the election will turn out now?

Ah, to be on the wrong side of history.

2. I almost get the feeling that they'd be disappointed if Trump didn't win...

... because they seem to be so heavily and emotionally invested in Hillary being defeated.

3. I can think of others that are equally as invested. Cornel West, Susan Sarandon,...

the list goes on.

13. Dislike Cornel, but fair is fair

He did say on Real Time that, if the vote were close, he would vote for Hillary to keep Trump out of the WH. This was a fairly recent Real Time episode, after he claimed he would vote Green. I guess he'll still be voting Green, as the election doesn't look as though it will be close.

Oh, and by the way, FUCK CORNEL!

On edit: It's in the after show portion of Real Time.

7. I don't think you're watching the same Cenk I am

He's wholeheartedly supporting Hillary over Trump at this point. He feels like Trump is a dangerous catastrophe waiting to happen.

See here:

And here:

Cenk is no fan of Hillary in abstract, but there is no way he's pumping Trump.

As for Michael Moore, I just think he's worried. He wrote the book on the Right stealing an election (Remember Stupid White Men?) so he knows what's at stake. He wants to create unease to encourage people to GOTV. I guess it's a valid approach, though I don't personally like that that is what it has come to.

8. Oh, bullshit! GMAFB!

but there is no way he's pumping Trump.

Because gleefully predicting Hillary's defeat and looking forward to being able to say "told-ya-so" isn't really a slam on the candidate or her campaign, eh?

10. It is possible to vote for someone and still have criticisms

But to say that Cenk supports a Trump victory just to say I-Told-You-So is inappropriate.

He's actively fighting against Trump. He's doing a #LoserTrump video a day where he talks about all of Trump's failing points. He's -begged- the RNC to get Trump out of the race after his 2nd Amendment comment. You can disagree with him, but don't mischaracterize his position. He and Ana have outlined again and again that Trump's policy focus will disproportionately hurt the poor, immigrants, POC, women, LGBTQ rights, and the environment.

He hasn't fallen in love with Hillary, but will vote for her.

11. Berating Hillary on a regular basis is not helpful ... it's just fuel for the Hillary Haters.

He knows that, I know that... and so do you.

But to say that Cenk supports a Trump victory just to say I-Told-You-So is inappropriate.

That's exactly what he's doing with his frequent predictions of her defeat. He's an anchor, a millstone.

He hasn't fallen in love with Hillary, but will vote for her.

Grudgingly, if at all. He's toxic and full of himself. (Just ask the American Airlines desk clerk and pilot, they'll tell you.)

9. I don't know about Cenk, but it wouldn't surprise me if Moore...

... viewed a Trump Presidency as an opportunity for him to draw crowds to more movies.

14. The Trump boosters were always deluded or wrongheaded.

Unfortunately a lot of their belief comes from their state of privilege in society. What Trump says on some level or another resonates with them, even though he's a chronic liar and manipulator.

During the primaries I was curious and watched about 10 minutes and felt dirty.

21. the critiques of Moore about this are weird

I guess maybe people aren't familiar with his style and aren't really engaging the material, because his goal of getting out the vote seems pretty clear to me

22. It's been a strange primary

I've seen lots of criticism of prominent progressives like Moore and Uygur, and there was that horrid thread a little while ago about how terrible Noam Chomsky is!
