Related: About this forumCan We Sue The Press?
CNN and MSNBC have the word "news" in their names.
Calling what they do news is fraud.
Can they be sued?
Fox never counts but should be shut down, not sued. It is pure propaganda with zero credibility.

fox argued that it's in the entertainment business and therefore they're well within their rights to have employees read false stories.
fox won.
hope i'm remembering this properly.
now, actual "news" programs might not want to choose this legal defense, but it seems to me a pretty solid one.
i don't think merely having "news" in the name is enough to call it fraud. ironically, to me fox news is so obviously lying that it's hard to call it fraud.
i suppose trying to deposit monopoly money in the bank could be considered counterfeiting, but there again, it's so obviously fake that, as a juror at least, i would likely buy the argument that it was just a joke.
