Something for you to share around to others.

It doesnt matter who you area journalist, a politician or a voterwell all be judged by how we responded to Donald Trump. Like it or not, this election is a plebiscite on the most divisive, polarizing and disrupting figure in American politics in decades. And neutrality is not an option.
The day after the election will be too late. It was too late when we realized that there were no weapons of mass destruction after the invasion of Iraq in 2003. That horrible error of judgment by the Bush administrationand the lack of strength by those opposing the warcost thousands of American and Iraqi lives. And nobody can even say that we won the war. But hopefully we can learn something from it.
Regardless of whether Donald Trump wins or loses, we will be asked on November 9th: What did you do? Did you support him? Were you brave enough, ethical enough, to challenge him when he insulted immigrants, Muslims, women, war heroes and people with disabilities? Are you on the record correcting his lies? Did you discuss with your friends and family that in a democracy like ours there is no room for racism and discrimination? Or did you just seat idly, silently, allowing others to decide the future of the United States?
Because you will be asked...more

(19,348 posts)They bear blame for this shit. They are calling his bigotry politics as usual. It is NOT!
This election season is anything but "as usual." Good for Jorge!
I agree. There are so many people in the media that have given him a pass.
I wish they would stop dancing around the racism, bigotry, sexism and homophobia. I wish they would acknowledge that he has purposely aligned himself with the worst of our society white supremacists, anti-semites, con artists, physical and sexual abusers... There's evidence of all these things (he does these things publicly!), yet the media insists on portraying him as a regular politician who's just a little more controversial than most.

(7,004 posts)Either they man up now or reside forever in the trash heap of history with Trump. I'm aware that Hillary knows what ideas to pursue and those to ignore but I hope she will echo his stance.

(24,395 posts)what she would do if she was indicted before the election?
Fuck you, Ramos! I've already held YOU to account and you're a fucking media whore, just as bad as the worst Faux News can offer.

(37,364 posts)Perhaps enough time to reevaluate the election and its outcomes. I think there are many people out there, some in the media, who are examining their values and notions. He sounds like he is doing that and is encouraging outhers to do so too. I believe in that people are able to change. I also believe in giving them a chance to do so.

(24,395 posts)After all, as a debate/townhall moderator, he was given a soapbox and entree to the candidates that few journalists ever enjoy. That he used his moment in the sun to peddle RW attacks against Hillary on national TV was disgusting.
