Democrats Go Nuclear in New Ad Targeting Donald Trump

With a mushroom cloud and at least $5 million worth of TV airtime behind it, the new ad from the pro-Hillary Clinton super PAC Priorities USA is sure to stand out in a crowded political landscape.

The spot, "I Love War," which was shared first with NBC News, will run widely in North Carolina, Ohio, Florida, Nevada and Iowa starting Friday. It includes no narration, opting instead for images of war juxtaposed with Trump's own words.

It opens with bodies of soldiers being loaded onto a helicopter during the Vietnam War as Trump says, "I'm really good at war, I love war, in a certain way."

Next is a mushroom cloud and video of nuclear test blasts as Trump says, "including with nukes."

Referring to opinion polling, just as it is in war, it is easier to hold ground
than it is to recapture ground you have lost.
The Clinton campaign has
squandered the lead and the inertia over the past month because of complacency
and a quiet hubris owing to the fact that Donald Trump is a consistently vile man
who is his own worst enemy, at times.

Not as much crowing about polls on DU these days, it seems.

Clinton should be nailing this guy relentlessly, using his own quotes and the
quotes of fellow Republicans who are against his election. I view his stance
on nuclear war and weapons as a weaker issue. There is bigger, lower-hanging,
rotten fruit to be picked off the tree. This scandal over the money he gave the
Florida AG should be flogged to death, every day, in every state.

Bare knuckle, carpet bombing 24 hours a day should have commenced immediately
after the convention.

The insane tyrant-in-waiting can still win this election. He has the media bias in his
favor, and he and his minions know how to "go nuclear" better than anyone.

TV news is All Trump All the time. You can carpet bomb him all you want, but if nobody covers it, does it actually happen?

She needs to eliminate the middle-man whenever possible.

I am talking about spending her trove of money on relentless TV adds.
Also, the strategy of letting him cut his own throat while she stayed out of sight
of the camera lens was not in her best interest, though understandable.
Clinton could get herself, and her message, on the news more. She needed to do
pressers a month ago. Now she has no choice.

She has tons of ammunition -- use it already!
She has tons of money -- spend it already!
She has tons of allies -- let them loose already!

Direct-to-the-voter attack ads and "events" are required in every state that is contested.

The media is already pushing the narrative that all Trump needs to do to succeed
in the debates and to appear qualified is... not drool on himself. (Deja vu to Bush
prior to his debates) Her advantage is already being undermined by a gutless news
media.

and takes its message to heart.

My biggest concern about her candidacy is her seeming
reluctance to take peace issues more seriously . .

She seemed to learn the wrong lessons about Libya, and
using H. Kissinger as an advisor is not good at all.

And I really doubt that a greater military involvement in
Syria will help anything - and could result in even more
Blowback.

In case you have not followed ISIS closely - its rise is pretty clearly
due in large measure to blowback resulting from the 2003
invasion of Iraq.

Trump is disgusting and the media that allows and patronizes him, equally so.
