Team Hillary's End Run Around The Media: Massive Ad Buys

It's become obvious to anyone paying even half attention that the news media is going to bash Hillary and go easy on Trump right up to the election.

Team Hillary saw this coming. They realize that the cable news stations are desperate for viewers, and that they will do everything in their power to flog the idea of a horserace. It's the only way they can hope to generate viewership and ad revenues.

But the truth is that in a nation of 324-million people, only 1.9-million Americans are watching the cable news channels at any given time, and that's all of the cable news channels combined. Prime time viewership maxes out at around 5-million, with 2.2-million of those viewers watching Bill O.

In other words, no more that 1.5% of Americans are watching cable news during the peak viewing hours.

So it comes as no surprise to me that Team Hillary is flooding radio and non-cablenews TV networks with massive ad buys. They had a big presence during Olympic coverage. Moving forward, there are many, many options available that hit a much-wider audience than do the cable news networks. The fact that Trump is not buying ad time gives Team Hillary the opportunity to buy up all the prime spots, and at rates that are more competitive than they would be were the Rs in the game.

For anyone who questions the effectiveness of TV ads in presidential campaigns, I have two words: Willie Horton. If you want a more-recent example, how about Swift Boaters?

The media hates the Clintons, that's obvious. But as much as they hate the Clintons, they love money even more. What the media taketh away in the mouse fart universe of cable news they giveth in the vast cosmos of non-cable-news network airtime. Team Clinton knows this. It's about time the rest of us understood the plan as well.

1. Many of us already knew why HRC brought so much ads for millions.

corporate media just will not coverage her campaign fairly and will always be negative towards her. They do a cake walk around T-rump who has more for real scandals. Republican congress has and will turn a blind eye but will go forth on total bullshit investigations on HRC.

With all that, HRC will still win both popular votes and the electoral college.

SlingTV may show cable ads, but they do show ads. Netflix may not show them but I don't really use that much. I use Hulu Plus most because it has the most recent TV shows. I also use USTVNow and I see anti Hillary ads on there. I think the networks are streamed from PA for that.

Hillary is spending her money in local markets, which is smart. The national ad buy is only about 10% of the buy. National ads are more expensive. Better spending the money in the big local markets in Ohio, Florida etc.
