in the Presidential election - it all depends on turnout. Now the congressional races are a different story. I am so tired of these backward GOP Reps we have here - the direct result of Bush/Perry for the last 20 years.

6. University of Mississippi has been growing legal cannabis for research

so they might be smoking enough to vote Dem. There are a lot of African Americans there and it used to be a solid Dem state back in the day.

7. If Hilary gets 100% of the African American vote

and they turn out in big numbers, what percent of the white vote would she need? Maybe 30%? Just a guess.

8. Yup, MS has the highest African American % of any state

so if she gets all the non-white vote and we can get the high turnout, she needs only 15.5% of the whites to win a simple majority. It's not a very big state, it could happen based on Trump's unfavorable views from religious people and women.

Democrats have won congressional seats there as recently as 2008 when 3 of their 4 US reps were Dems. I want it mainly as an FU to the GOP to break their confidence in what they thought were solid red states.

Red to blue has happened in Virginia, NC, Colorado, and other states mainly due to population migration.
