blasting that Trump's "movement" is an insurgency to smash the system of "rigged capitalism." Rang a bell for me from an article I read a when Bannon was hired by Trump.
Circa 2013, Bannon continued to believe that the only way to destroy the left was a populist uprising of a sort that requires the destruction of the GOP establishment.
We dont believe there is a functional conservative party in this country and we certainly dont think the Republican Party is that, he told a gathering of conservatives in Washington, D.C. Its going to be an insurgent, center-right populist movement that is virulently anti-establishment, and its going to continue to hammer this city, both the progressive left and the institutional Republican Party.

The people allied with Trump are not invested in a functioning two party system or in the functionality of the party they claim to lead now. They are not to be joked about but must be defeated soundly. This election is not about large change. It is about preservation of the rights that have been hard fought and won. It is about holding ground and regrouping to fight the next round. We need strength now more than ever. We are very close to being pushed back generations worth of progress.

(37,364 posts)just get out work and vote to stop it. If you are a member of the many groups these people paint a target on, you can afford to do anything else.

(37,364 posts)the Newt Gingerich school of labelling. Call something whatever they want and then repeat. I'm not interested in the labels but in the stated intent of these people. I'm not finding it funny.

We must do everything in our power to help elect Hillary. There is no alternative moving forward.

(37,364 posts)I'm more concerned about if they succeed in electing Trump while doing so. THey will then destroy the nation. I don't think that's a good thing.
