Louie, Louie

TO: Louie Gohmert (Texas - R)

Re your remarks at the Value Voter Summit, Friday, September 9:

“You don't make fun of people who are impaired, have special needs, and whether you like her or not, Hillary Clinton has made clear she is mentally impaired and this is not somebody you should be making fun of."

"We need to be praying for Hillary Clinton. There's special needs there, there's mental impairment ... That was not a proper thing to say because, again, I'm making fun of the mentally impaired and that's not right.”

I will not mince words, sir. Your party’s candidate, Donald Trump, is an idiot. Throughout his campaign, he has amply demonstrated that he knows nothing about domestic affairs, foreign affairs, the economy, the military, veterans’ affairs, climate change, international relations – in short, literally everything a president of the United States should have a complete grasp of in order to responsibly carry out the duties of the office of POTUS.

It is not that his familiarity with these and many other topics is wanting; it is literally non-existent. Mr. Trump’s only claim to fame, if one can call it that, is hosting TV shows viewed by the mindless, and his so-called expertise as a businessman who has spent more time in bankruptcy court than the average citizen spends on the toilet.

Trump’s campaign has been rife with meaningless braggadocio, outrageous lies, and what can only be described as complete and utter nonsense. One would be hard-pressed to find even one single coherent sentence the man has managed to put together since he entered the presidential race. His insults towards every demographic of the voting populace are already the stuff of legend, and his inability to speak intelligently on any topic whatsoever is beyond appalling.

And yet this bloviating idiot is the person your party is proffering as suitable to handle the duties of the most powerful position on earth.

The fact that you, and many of your fellow Republicans, are questioning the mental capacity of Hillary Clinton is nothing less than laughable. Here is a woman who has an incredible grasp of every aspect of government and its workings, an almost other-worldly ability to quote facts and statistics on any subject, and the capability to do so calmly and rationally – while your candidate lacks the intellectual wherewithal to speak beyond the level of a third grader desperately trying to impress kindergarteners in the schoolyard.

But it’s a “tell”, as they say in the vernacular, Louie – and it’s a big one. Your party has tipped its hand. Given the complete absence of anything positive to be said about your party’s candidate, the only course of action left to you is to denigrate the Democratic nominee. There really is no other option – other than hoping-against-hope that the low-info voters who applaud Trump’s bigotry and abject stupidity are actually intelligent enough to find their way to the polls in November – which, if I were you, I wouldn’t count on.

The only "mental impairment" that is apparent here is that of the citizens who believe that a nonsense-spouting buffoon would make a great president - along with the GOP party leaders who are championing his cause. I am left to wonder just how mentally impaired one would have to be to believe that a man who has consistently demonstrated that he doesn't have a single clue about anything should hold the most powerful position on the planet. I am also left to wonder just how low Republicans are willing to stoop in order to promote the candidacy of that man.

Your attack on Secretary Clinton’s mental stability is beyond abhorrent – but is not unexpected from someone such as yourself. It is the kind of thing that would normally prompt one to ask, “Have you no shame, sir?” But you have rendered the question moot. The fact that you have no shame is abundantly clear.

Were Louie capable of comprehending your remarks, imagine the wittiness of his response. Ask Eric Holder, he's been on the receiving end of that stuff . . .

I doubt Louie Gomert has an attention span long enough to read the entire letter, nor the comprehension to understand words like "vernacular" and "braggadocio."

But maybe he can get someone to read it to him.

Great rant. I was absolutely unsurprised at Louie. I wouldn't be surprised if he said there were secret lizard people in disguise running the government. He holds the distinction of being the stupidest member of Congress so anything that comes out of his mouth is bound to be moronic.

Sorry you have to be addressing such idiocy in the first place, but this is where we find ourselves in this election cycle.
