Forbes thoroughly debunks media hysteria about Hillary fainting. Please read.

Last edited Sun Sep 11, 2016, 05:49 PM - Edit history (1)

On edit:

It has just been reported that she is being treated for pneumonia and is doing well.

Not epilepsy, Parkinson's, MS, or any of the other chronic and debilitating conditions the RWers wanted her to have.

http://www.forbes.com/sites/emilywillingham/2016/09/11/is-it-really-possible-to-faint-from-heat-as-clinton-claims/#43113041fe39

People who want Hillary Clinton to be unfit to be president have spent months—years—trotting out several diagnoses to claim her unfitness. Among them is epilepsy, which seems to be favored in that crowd, while another is dementia. Neither, of course, has anything to do with what we can see on that video. One does not “faint” when having a seizure, for example.

One can, however, feel overheated and faint. I was just at an indoor show that was pretty crowded when the fellow in front of me dropped like his bones had turned to rubber. People helped him out into an airy waiting area and got him some water. Within a few minutes, he’d recovered and was back in the venue, staying for the remaining 2 hours of the show. He did not, however, have to release any statements about his health. He was also the second man I’d seen just in that evening who’d fainted in a crowded, warm place.

Feeling faint with heat or even fainting because of it isn’t the same thing as “heat stroke.” It’s known as “heat syncope.” Unlike some assertions people are making about it now, yes, you can recover your equilibrium from it pretty quickly once you get a chance to cool down and rest for a bit. Fainting is usually the result of a drop in blood pressure or change in heart rate that reduces the blood reaching the brain, as occurs in people of all ages with sudden or prolonged standing or being overheated. Lying down and restoring that circulation is a pretty rapid fix.

Clinton’s campaign already released a statement saying that her feeling of faintness was because of feeling overheated. She was wearing black on a warm morning, and millions of people have had the exact same experience, with no ominous aftermath.

SNIP

Based on the Twitter response and glut of stories within an hour of the episode, some in the press see smoke in this event and think there’s a fire. But would they if Trump and his supporters and those who preceded him hadn’t already worked so hard to plant exactly that kind of reaction to Clinton’s every possible misstep or stumble, literal or figurative?

Hard to say, but the same tactic has already worked on the more gullible members of the media who follow the false narrative threads about Clinton’s various scandals that turn out to be nonscandals.

and very easily for anyone over 60.

I was at an amusement park last summer and crouched down to talk with my granddaughter. When I stood up I was nearly out on my feet. Luckily I regained consciousness very and quickly caught myself before hitting the ground. It was very brief but very noticeable as I staggered a little while regaining my balance.

No adult over 60 has the same reflexes and reactions as a 35 year old.

Also;

There's a long history of mild Presidential illness such as when GHWB threw up in Japan.

Maybe this is also why the republican nominee should also release his results from a full and recent physical exam.

Outside of bizzaro world this is a non-story.

Those who want Hillary Clinton to be unfit to be president, are doing their best to make this into something horrible, and it's not. Their agenda is the same as it was during the primaries, and even back to the days when many of these same posters were constantly doing their best to make President Obama look bad on a daily basis. They have their own little hate site, but I guess it's more fun for them to come over here and play games. They think they are getting away with something, but they are so obvious it's pathetic. No matter how much the don't want her to be president, she will win, Trump will lose, and she will be the next president.

Thanks for the post.

"is it really possible to faint from heat as Clinton claims?" couching it as a mere "claim" alone is a red flag.

sounds like they don't believe her. one has to read the article to find out that they are on her side.

most uninformed and undecided people will not read it because of the way it is phrased; it telegraphs exactly what they want to hear.

Just MHO.

Still just a right wing rag being a "correct clock one of 2x a day."

Remember? LAX was shut down because Bill Clinton wanted to get
a hair cut and he had to get off the plane and everyone waited.

The media went into a frenzy. CNBC was hysteric.

Years later it was all debunked, and why the White House didn't call
them out on it far earlier is anyone's guess.

We should NOT ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN TO HILLARY CLINTON

I misjudged the weather (low-mid 80's, moderate humidity), didn't drink enough cool water and stood in the sun too long. I got woozy very fast and nearly collapsed. I found some shade, sat down and got some cool water. In 10 minutes, I was feeling just fine. People WAY over-reactung to this.
