A deal breaker to me. There's been a lot of hostility and craziness - Vince Foster anyone!- and then she makes light of it as if it was just a joke. Just got angry when I asked her to correct her posts saying Hillary collapsed 90
Minutes after leaving (it took 90 minutes for the press release- now she is pretending to care about that!)
I'm amazed that someone so ill informed posts so much, or that she still hasn't gotten over the primaries. She thought Obama just didn't bother to pick a Supreme Court justice. Really didn't understand why so much of what she wants is going to be determined by the USSC. Does not understand what congress has been doing to the Dems. Lots of magical thinking, but wishing someone literally ill like that is feeling like the last straw.
She hopes HRC will suspend her campaign and the runner up be made our candidate. I guess I'm going to have to block her on FB for starters. But I hate to see her constantly spread disinformation. Like telling people they can write in someone else in states they can't.
Dammit, she gets on so well with my cats too.

(524 posts)And you combat disinformation with information. I'd like to hear form the doctor she surely saw after, so we can put the nonsense to bed and get to some truth.

I asked her when the last time she cared about how long it took a politician to release any statement and got no answer. At least she corrected the lies. She kind of had to- they were right under a post saying how she hates lies. LOL

(58,785 posts)this long, and we really, really need to maintain these relationships that are comfortable and nice everywhere except where the political facets of our personalities clash at each other. What we don't need is widening of the divide and cutting of communication.
Maybe a moratorium on political talk? You could even block her/them if you felt it was necessary but just explain that it's only until after the next president is sworn in, when you can hopefully both put this behind you and remember your mutual search for the perfect chicken salad recipe, and your mutual fondness for your cat.
sounds like she can't get over the fact Hillary won the primary, with the most votes - of any candidate. Gently let her know Bernie is not/will not be the nominee. Does this person want a "President Trump?" I don't! I'm pretty sure neither do you. Let me say that again, for dramatic effect; President Trump! 😱😨😫😩
misread this I'm sorry.

(47,209 posts)And is pissed about Sanders endorsing Hillary. Would not be surprised if she thinks he was threatened.
scary thing is is that if enough people, and I really, really hope there aren't, feel the way your "friend" does then that might be enough to get that orange asshole elected. How much satisfaction will you get, personally, when he really fucks shit up and you tell her "see what all you jerks did by voting Johnson/Stein." Giving bad voting info is another one. I'm fairly sure, if you're anything like I am you won't get satisfaction. Things will be really screwed up. This election scares me like no other ever has. Okay, did I make any sense or was I being too conceited?😳🙄

(2,678 posts)conceited was supposed to "convoluted."😱

(3,635 posts)when the Naderites told everybody that Bush and Gore were basically the same.
If Gore became president there would've been no 9-11, no Iraq War (and thus no ISIS), no economic meltdown, etc.
The world we live in is largely a result of the outcome of that election.
Hillary's primary challenger received far less votes, especially from PoC and women.

(47,209 posts)Mix of RW and Libertarian. She thinks she is ultra lefty- but the thing is, she doesn't even know the system she tries to rail against is. Others have pointed out how she denigrates bands, artists and people when others have brought them up - in a positive way- in conversation. She went to a play one friend produced and spent a half hour ripping it to shreds because she just wasn't interested in the subject matter. It's not just lacking a filter- it's making assumptions others feelings do not matter.
I'm a little compulsive about correcting the record. She is going to have to cope with it.

(47,209 posts)Poker game many years ago. It's really just since the rise of Bernie that she has gotten politically vocal. It seems she used to be a much kinder person. It's strange.

(2,678 posts)I said to my wife if Hillary wasn't running he'd have had my vote. It was only near the end of the primaries, then afterward that he really started getting under my skin. I understand, sorta, how the Sander's supporters felt; I felt the same way in 2008. Thing is I got over it. Guess she won't.😡

(47,209 posts)Parts of his campaign bothered me. Some parts of every politician bother me. But these guys have been literally making up shit to be bothered about. I feel like it's time to STFU and go work to make positive change, but they just want to lash out still. I am so over it.

(68,546 posts)political supporter. I have never ended a friendship over politics with the exception of one friend who informed with great concern that my gay daughter is so going to hell...that was that. This is different. I can not pretend to understand those who would prefer Trump yet consider themselves progressive, but perhaps it will pass.

(47,209 posts)Do any homework at all. I've been really holding my tongue while the race was going on. But early summer they were still talking about turning things around at the convention and just really hateful and uninformed stuff about Hillary. I've asked her if she is working towards anything of anyone in November, and she says she is over it. At this point I feel like people like her- spreading bullshit- are part of the problem. We expect this idiocy from the GOP.

(47,209 posts)It's a weird thing how she and another friend both can't help getting really angry and basically irrational. I drew the line at the last poker game- no more fucking Briebart garbage gets spewed in my house.
Next game we are playing with Hillary cards. I was super patient all year and let them rant for days. I am sooo over it.

(50,254 posts)No excuse at all.
And believe me, if your friend is a Sanders supporter, she stands alone in wishing for the replacement of HRC on the ticket. The idea of something like that is repugnant to the rest of us. She should be ashamed.

(68,546 posts)We would lose if there was any replacement at this late date...this is not a Sander's supporter no matter what she claims.

(68,546 posts)endless, breathless concern posts...not all...there are some who are truly worried, but in most cases, it is a form of attacking Hillary...Trust works both ways. And attacking our candidate for being shrill, for ugly pantsuits for not smiling more, for being too timid, for being too mean, for not being more transparent....blah blah. Yep, trust works both ways and pouncing on our candidate for every little thing when the person doing so was known to support a different candidate and doesn't show any visible signs of supporting our nominee and in some cases has posted negative stuff on other websites , well lets just say trust is an issue. We need unity, but some insist on re-fighting the primary. And that is not my problem. For me the primary is over. By the way, I am not talking about you so don't sent me angry replies ...it is a general comment based on many different posts.

(47,209 posts)I most other ways I think she is pretty bright. But she really attacked a friends work badly- with no insights really other than calling his choices dumb. Everyone tried to redirect the conversation away, but she could not take the hint. I think she always liked being a bit of a contrarian and has just gotten into habitual knee jerking.
But sometimes the shit she says does not add up. Not at all. It's getting weird.

(4,302 posts)I've started a post here a few times about my Trump-loving friend and then ended up deleting it because I wasn't sure how it would go over. All I was looking for was some support when I thought of typing it.
I made a new friend about 2 years ago and her rabid Republicanism didn't come to light until this election. I'm horrified. She's all-in, too. Hates France because they wouldn't go to war, the whole nine insane yards of lunacy.
It's taking a toll on my friendship too. I can't even figure out where she gets her "information" from. When I tell her about what he's done and said, she either thinks it's great and funny or doesn't believe me. Says she'll vote for him no matter what he does or says, because, she says, she's "the typical American who wants the wall" and I'm a far-left fringe lefty for not agreeing.
She also is against gay marriage but is fucking someone else's husband.
