The more I see it, the more it seems to be a revenge game. Oh, you didn't give us a press conference, we will do hit pieces on you. You didn't tell me that you have a cold as soon as you know - that's unacceptable. News organizations, both print and media are supposed to be tellers and investigators of truth and ideas, not just dispensers of the information provided by the campaign. Right now, the news is that press is really angry that her campaign didn't tell them immediately.

(8,998 posts)They get paid to read charts of poll results etc - that we could easily do ourselves. Then they add their opinions and guesses which we do not require.
I wish they would all JSTFU.

(3,284 posts)feel that she's "snubbed" them. What's really strange to me is that Donald Trump constantly belittles and impugns the media, even going so far as to single out reporters and call them vile names - and the media doesn't respond to him with any more vitriol than it does Clinton.
What gives? It makes no sense.

I'm hoping this taints his brand name and sinks him.

Journalists actually now think it's their job to critique the strategies of presidents, generals, candidates and inform us what they should have done.
Criticism and analysis of the "optics" of how things are presented to the press as the story, covering the story itself in only a glancing way incidentally.
How many these days question whether they are entitled to try to destroy a presidential candidate by twisting their coverage to that purpose? Much less realize the answer is a giant never?
