While the the media remains squarely focused on the revelation that Hillary Clinton has pneumonia—coverage that is likely to fuel right-wing conspiracy theories questioning her health—Donald Trump appeared on CNBC this morning and stunned political pundits by wishing his Democratic rival a speedy recovery.

"It was quite sad to be honest with you, and I hope she gets well soon," Trump insisted. "No satisfaction, believe me, whatsoever."


Headlines pounced to take note of the rare positive message, largely ignoring the rest of the interview that focused on actual policy. Unsurprisingly, that's when Trump was able to get away with saying the following list of offensive and patently untrue claims:

Expect 2 weeks before the election everything to go ultra negative on Trump. They want a horse race but aren't stupid enough to help him win.

They all jumped on the "Gore the Bore" and "Kerry the Coward" bandwagons to help the Republicans get close enough they could steal those elections. I don't think "the media" is something any one person or even a board of persons can control anymore. Its a faceless machine now purely about ratings and ad dollars. I doesn't even matter about criticism hurled their way. Their reputations as high standard journalists doesn't hold a candle to seeing a spike in viewership. Sure they'll be a few on-air talking heads that may get the brunt of a backlash from some libtard guest on the rare occasion you allow them on air, but that's why they get paid the big bucks.

All they know is that when they have Trump's face on the air, spouting something bigoted, er...telling it like it is, viewership spikes up, and if they have Hillary's face on the air being badgered about tired old "scandals" that have been proven either minor or outright false over and over plays better than a segment on her listing her platform policies and being, OMG, positive.
