If you can't get it live, watch the re-run. I have a feeling Fox "News" will not be running clips of this speech.

(31,464 posts)Everyone elses Congressman sucks. I get that. But there really are some good people in public service. If we looked beyond their political ads, looked into their actual records, people wouldn't keep voting in the same losers.
But, Obama...damn. He's been one stellar rep for the United States, on every level. Could he have done some things better? Of course. But each of us can say the same thing about our own lives. Obama has been a great representative and leader. I have no regrets in voting for him, and it's unfortunate that so many people think "term limits" means we'll get a better government.
Stop voting in shitty people, then we'll get a better government. But vote in Obama again, without a recalcitrant GOP Congress and we could really see some progress in this country.

(26,060 posts)we EASILY would have had to endure a third Reagan term - even though he was clearly suffering from Alzheimers. I just think it should be across the board - either no term limits or congressional term limits as well.

I'm feeling more enthusiastic for Hilary now, realizing my resistance had a lot to do with the negative media and the censorship by silence that so many outstanding women experience.
But he is the most amazing leader in my life too. I wish he could stay!

(5,810 posts)According to things I've read it is 6' tall. It was put up for auction and Melania bid $10,000 and then was more or less shamed into doubling the bid. So where does this shrine hang? Probably in one of their gold plated bathrooms. Oh, yeah....it was paid for out of Trump Foundation funds. The man knows no boundaries. Has no shame. When is SOMEONE ...anyone....going to confront him about these...shall we say? Irregularities???

I saw it from start to finish on MSNBC. Funny thing is that Trump was speaking in Iowa at exactly the same time, didn't even talk about that after Obama's speech was over.

One of the proudest moments of my life was joining thousands of others at the Arena in Oakland to watch him take the oath in 2009. He's proven again and again he is truly worthy of the office.
I will miss him. He's young - wonder what he'll do come January 22.
