2016 Postmortem

I will no longer be shocked to see the Donald win in Nov ( not in Cal but over all).. I fully expect in the debates Hillary will win all the discussions dealing with the actual issues, but at some point she will make a facial gesture, an eye roll.. something of that nature and for the next 3 days that is all the MSM will talk about. Everyone called Ronald R the Teflon pres.. Donald Trump makes him look like he was covered in sticky glue.. sheesh..

No matter who wins in November, it will also likely be a plurality vote (less than 51%) due to Gary Johnson and Jill Stein.

(128,780 posts)Gray Davis was recalled after the Enron mess in California with the ginned up energy prices, thus propelling an actor into office. But a bigger demographic change began after that and when Jerry Brown got back in, there was a purge and there are now little or no GOP left (except in a few pockets) in the state legislature.
The state under Jerry Brown actually offers the perfect example of what one needs to do to take a state out of billions of debt racked up by Republican insistence on no taxes for the rich, and bringing it to the point of surplus while expanding services for the people.
I wouldn't compare the situations.
