Both Trump and Cuban are frauds, each in his own way.

(182,725 posts)He's on a CNBC show called Shark Tank
Cuban as a teen got a great deal on trash bags and went selling them door to door. At Indiana U he couldn't make tuition so he sent outlet a chain letter and made what he needed.
After school he pitched himself as a tech guy though he didn't actually own a computer. He made a sale to write software for a company, got an advance and went and bought a computer and coding books. He stayed up all night learning how to write code and made good on his contract on the software. From there he just kept going.
He and his buddies - yes he's a jock type- couldn't stand that they weren't able hear the radio call of IU basketball. He created the ability to put radio on the Internet. It became broadcast.com. Buyers came calling (Yahoo?) and he famously took their first offer. $800million. "why negotiate?" He asked.
He went on to buy the Dallas NBA team and has rolled the near billion into much more.

(8,515 posts)Up to this point, I had very mixed feelings about Cuban.. Big Libertarian..
However hearing from him lately he might have changed.. Realizing how important govt is if run by smart well intentioned people.. He is definitely very fearful that a trump Presidency would crash our economy..Hes mentioned that several times..

(47,209 posts)Fund. It was pretty much he opposite. They worked for free and funded it themselves. If they "used influence" to get people to be on the board of directors for free or donate time or money I think that is awesome.

(1,685 posts)Love what Cuban is doing to Don the Con. And Hillary would easily handle this challenge. She's the most well versed on policy of any of the earlier candidates on either side.

(833 posts)this is rich (sorry). An appeal to the sob's greed must be a real temptation. Hit him where he lives, Cuban! Btw, Brooke Baldwin has just played back a string of T-rump's musings on how our President "might" have been born in Kenya. A lot of people think so.
No, some do; most do not.

(14,168 posts)He's just a greedy capitalist .1% that is looking out for his own money. If it were an establishment Republican that had won the primaries that would have been preferable, as they don't 'waste' money on programs for the great unwashed, but Hillary is a better choice for his wallet than Trump as at least she is more predictable and the economy would be stable for his businesses.

I have no problem with fiscal conservatives, if they are up front about their beliefs.
LiberalLovinLug
(14,168 posts)Sure, that's fine. For now, money trumps Trump. It was just a reminder of where his real concerns are. Once he helps Hillary get in it will back to, as Bush Jr. put it, money trumps peace, and he'll be one of those pushing Hillary to pass the TPP, as one example.

Too bad for them he's a coward and they will never see a dime of that money. I still have my reservations he will show up for a one on one debate with Hillary - still waiting for his last minute excuses.

LiberalLovinLug
(14,168 posts)He should, in all fairness, offer both candidates, say, $5 million each for a one on one, same deal to answer policy questions. Why should Trump be rewarded simply because he's a greedy pig and money is all that is important to him.
Of course it would also be fun to watch the comparison. Something like this actually should have happened already with the MSM, minus the $. I'd love to see this, as it would differentiate them on such a scale. And the MSM would be aghast as they watch their carefully constructed horse race crumble. Removing the Trump handicap he is awarded everytime he's on air, and without the obligatory preamble of "emails...foundation...Benghazi...etc.." on Hillary. treating them both the same...allowing them both ample time to explain their policies (or not) and also why they are the better direction etc. No way Trump could claim it was rigged, or biased either.
But like I say, the MSM would do their best to not let it happen. It would expose their utter ineptitude so far in exposing the vast differences between them.

(3,635 posts)and apolitical swing voter types who are wow'd by a cool celebrity businessman - prevents them from even considering Trump.
As a moderate Dem I have no problem with ethical business people like Cuban who is self made, entrepreneurial, innovative, charitable, socially liberal, etc.
The fact that he is so strongly against Trump and so strongly for Hillary/Dems (who have promised to be tougher on big business and the rich) in this election cycle shows that he is an ethical and decent guy who puts people over profit.
